My first time here and last. I passed by this location many times for many years since i was a kid. Today My wife and i decided to try this place out today as we saw on google photos that they had ceviche that looked like they did it all natural with lime juice .
We sat down and ordered 2 drinks my chicha was okay a 5 out of 10 all i can taste is the cinnamon and not the pineapple .
we ordered our soups of the special of the day and never got them as the cook never got the order of the soup . they forgot it’s okay it happens .
My wife ordered the ceviche corvina which i know is a better expensive fish than the tilapia . But when it came out it was a huge portion i was surprised but when i saw the pink base they washed it in it was just a matter of it will taste good or not . And unfortunately it did not taste well at all. They ruined a perfectly Corvina fish in that base . Why not just cook it with lime ?
I ordered the arroz con pollo which is usually a dish that peruvian restaurants only make on the weekends and i was excited to eat it ordered papa a la huancaina for my plate as well . first bite i took i felt a crunchy feeling in the rice i took 3 more bites and it was the obvious , the cilantro they use to make the rice was not properly washed . strike 3 i was done giving this restaurant a chance. i got up left my food completely full didn’t even take a bite of the check or papa a la huancaina. I asked the waitress for the bill she asked ne what was wrong and i told her exactly what i wrote here . she proceeded and charged me 65$ for food that i didn’t even eat . I paid it no problem seams like this place cares more about making money than making things right for the customer to leave satisfied. As a peruvian i am extremely disappointed, Maybe this restraunt can pass for other customers who aren’t peruvian. I hope the owner reads this and doesn’t give an excuse for anything but instead keep note to this so they can...
Read moreI work at a large retail store with over 100 employees. We like restaurants that do deliveries and we order every single day. Joey’s was one of our favorites. However, on July 12 we placed an order and the owner said “make sure you tip the driver”. This isn’t the first time he says something about making sure to tip. The first couple of times I let it slide but this was the last time. I responded to the owner that I make sure I always tip, at least I do. I always tip 20%. He replied back saying I might tip but others in this location do not. I explained to the owner that at the end of the day tip is at someone’s discretion and it is not mandatory. I’m not sure if that was offensive but it’s the truth. I got yelled at over the phone by the owner himself, Joey. I’m not sure if it’s because I speak Spanish and I’m a female that he felt comfortable enough to scold me in such a manner. He threatened me sayin he was going to cancel my order for saying what I said, even though I still had every intention of tipping. Reading the reviews I’m not the only one that’s experienced this. When the driver arrived I did NOT tip him because of his boss and told him to deliver the message that Joey’s has lost all business with this location. Again, alothough I tip and so do my teamates, whether it be $2 $5 or $10 TIP IS NOT MANDATORY please understand that Joey. You’re losing business...
Read moreI decided to try this restaurant for the 1st time today. I received a call from someone asking me how much am I going to "TIP" them? When I said tipping is at my discretion, he told me they are canceling my order unless I tell him. How much I'm going to tip him. The most absurd thing I've ever heard. They claim it is far away. #1 it's not, because I'm at 502 valley Rd in Wayne. They are approximately 3.3miles from me. 10min drive is too far for delivery? In what world? #2 if that's too far why not advertise within the perimeters of your clientele? This is an office build where we order 100s of dollars worth of food as a team and company events. Glad you won't be getting our business. Such a great customer service. I'm sure you will thrive with this...
