As someone new to town and on a mission to find great food spots, Silver Lake MuraYama Sushi was a delightful surprise! Nestled in the small, quiet town of Silverlake, I stopped by on a whim and couldn’t be happier with my choice. The Tonkatsu ramen was incredible—rich, creamy broth with tender pork and perfectly cooked noodles that hit all the right notes. The spicy tuna hand roll was fresh and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice and a satisfying crunch from the seaweed. The restaurant had a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff made me feel right at home. For anyone in the area or just passing through, this is definitely a hidden gem worth visiting. I’m excited to explore more local spots, but this one is already a favorite!

I ordered “Sushi Sashimi for two” for a group of 3 people to share, and my friends ordered ramen and Red Sea Roll, and we were more than content. Both of the salmon and tuna are fresh and delicious!! My friend grew up in Japan, and he was also surprised to discover a sushi restaurant in White plains is able to serve such high-quality Japanese food. Also, the spicy mayo on the Red Sea roll is so yummy!! I was not a spicy Mayo fan before but their spicy mayo changed my mind. It tastes completely different from those brands you can get from grocery stores. I should’ve ordered a box of spicy mayo for my late-night chicken nuggets lol. Overall, their price and the quality of food are beyond my expectation.

Went up to Rockefeller State Park Preserve over the weekend for a hike and didn't have any plans to eat around the area cause we didn't have much expectations for the restaurants there. But on our drive back to the city the girlfriend found a sushi place which turned out to be a great find. I got 2 rolls (the Black & Orange and the Dragon) and the lady got the Double Spicy (Which is actually fairly spicy so watch out!). Also got a side of Chicken Karage which was fireeeee. Total price came out to about $50ish~ which was more than fair cause we had to pack the food back home. Overall an unexpected but pleasant experience. Will stop by again when we go hiking upstate again.

The tuna lover sushi/sashimi entree was terrible. The tuna wasn’t fresh and it smelled and tasted bad and it was discolored so I threw it away. We also ordered a dinner bento box that came with a California roll. They put the California roll in the same box with the chicken teriyaki entree, even though I asked to have it wrapped separately, and the California roll was covered in teriyaki sauce and it was ruined. I had a coupon for a free California roll too (for an order over $35.00) and they didn’t give me the free roll we were entitled to. We spent $51.98 for food plus tax and a tip ($14.00) and they charged us for a small side of spicy mayo. That’s like charging people for a side of ketchup when they order a burger and fries. It’s ridiculous and petty and bad business. I was also overcharged $4.00 for the sushi lover entree that was bad and had to be thrown away. I called them that night to tell them and they were closed already so I called again the next day to explain what happened. They refused to compensate me for the rotten tuna, their mistakes, and for the overcharge. We wasted over $65.00 for inedible food. The only edible food in the entire order was the side of gyoza that came in the bento box.

Ichiro Fusion and Daido Sushi Market in White Plains are great. We order sushi and entrees from Ichiro and Daido all the time now. I will never, ever order from Silver Lake...

What a great place with very reasonable pricing and great ownership. The food was outstanding. I also wanted to comment about the post below. I was at the restaurant when the significant other on the D. Lee post was there. Totally classless people. He ordered food and the owner said it’s very busy and it will be 30 minutes or more. When 25 minutes went by they asked if it was ready. It wasn’t so this man has Donna Lee call and cancel the order. Not only did they waste food but also peoples energy and work because of their impatience after the order. Get a life and stop hurting businesses you whining loser. Then they complain like little babies and food which to me makes you pathetic. The place was empty but they do a ton of Uber, door dash etc. Stop hurting businesses with you weak pathetic attitude and clearly spirit. “Like I said the place was empty” she says. Well clearly with a 30 minute wait they were not playing with their thumbs. Vindictive, classless, pathetic post Donna. At least you saved your money as you...

Hidden Gem: Definitely worth a try

I stumbled upon Murayama after spending the day with my girlfriend in the Silver Lake park which is in front of the restaurant. Wasn’t expecting much since local sushi places aren’t the best but wow I was blown away by the food and hospitality.

-Food- We ordered a few appetizers (fried calamari and edamame) and the signature rolls (Murayama Roll, 87 Roll & Sweet Dream Roll) which were all great; shown in photos; at most of it LOL.

-Hospitality- The restaurant is run by a lovely couple who runs the front and back of house. They were extremely kind and always checked in on us to make sure we’re doing alright.

Highly recommend giving this place a try when you’re in town or just visiting the...
