Silver Lake, a silver lining for Pizza, near White Plains.
I ordered here from their website after receiving a flyer in the mail. It was one of the best Italian food experiences.
First, got a 15% coupon on my first online order, which in this economy is a nice touch.
Second, after I placed my order someone from the restaurant called with a question. I love that from a restaurant, they did not guess on what I wanted, or do whatever they wanted, they got clarification. Communication like that is what the modern apps miss.
Third, the prices were fair, I thought the pizza was a little pricey, but the pasta was a great value buy. They also have a great assortment of party and family meals. Would love to see a pizza, pasta, dessert combo like a Pizza Hut big box for those families that always want something different.
Fourth, the delivery person - Andres was on time with the projected delivery timeframe, followed directions and did a perfect handoff. I also liked the ability to pre-tip in the checkout screen to prevent any awkwardness with him.
Fifth, the restaurant showed care with packing everything. They put this paper underneath the pizza as a buffer with the box so the grease did not seep through, wrapped the bread nicely to conserve heat, and gave some whipped butter packets. No spillage in the pasta containers. overall packaged everything nicely.
And finally, the taste. Now normally I am a Famiglia or Abatinos guy, but this pizza was better. The pasta was delicious, even something like the pepperoni tasted fresh and crispy. The portions on the large were good, and Grandma style was true to its word. The meatballs and pasta were phenomenal and their wedge had all the extras I requested, and tasted very fresh.
The only place that is on their level to me is Leonardos in Rockland County, and thats because their meatballs and penne vodka are insane. In Westchester - certainly near White Plains - this will be my new spot. I hope they keep the customer friendly policies of good - and a lot of food - for a good price. I know it will certainly endear loyalty...
Read moreOnly gave 1 star because zero stars is not an option. My husband called in a pizza and went to pick it up last night. He left his phone on the counter when he set the box down to pay and accidentally left his phone right there on the counter. He came home, which is a 3 minute drive away, and told me he couldn't find it. I called Silver Lake Pizza and asked if he had left the phone there, if anyone had seen one or turned one in. The guy on the phone yelled out "anyone seen a cell phone" and told me no, there was nothing there. He clearly didn't bother to look as it was right in front of him on the counter. We tracked it and it didn't move the entire time it was there. My husband went right back and the phone was still on the counter, directly in front of and within the sight of the guy at the register. He said "this is my phone right?" and the guy just nodded. I was calling it nonstop too and they never answered to say that they had the phone in their possession.
It seems they either couldn't be bothered to look directly in front of their faces and let me know that it was there, or they were planning to keep the phone for themselves. Either way we'll never be ordering from here again and I'll be sure to tell everyone about their shady business practices. Their pizza is trash anyway, I've had better crust from an...
Read moreHonestly, the food isn’t the problem I had w this place… whoever took my order didn’t bother to clarify what town I was in and assumed I was right up the street. When the delivery guy called to tell me he was here, we realized he was sent to the wrong address. I called the pizzeria. They said the driver would be to me in 5 mins. Almost 30 mins later the driver called to tell me he was outside. Again. So I went outside. No driver. I called the pizzeria. They BS’d me and said he would be to me in 2 mins. 15 mins later the driver shows up. The worst part?? They charged me for the full amount of my order. I’m sorry but I worked in hospitality for years and if we ever messed up we comped something or reduced the guests bill by a percentage. If that’s not awful customer service,...
