Nice new place that also has a location in Buffalo. Food was very nice , fresh and good flavor.Hot sauce was great . People were nice and service is fast . I wish the tacos were a little bigger. Food is the best Mexican or Mex-American around Amherst? Williamsville , better than the chains, or the upscaled tacos in a bar places or the one with the pre made food cooked in plastic bags . Its near my house, so ill probably be in frequently. Want to try the Tortas
6/22/25 Im editing my review, have since been back to Ranchos a few times. Ive had a Torta which was nice , served with a side of fries. The torta roll wasn't anything special and I would have preferred a bigger sandwich with more meat and no fries. very good other wise ..., maybe improve the roll and make it bigger ??
Ive also had a large shrimp quesadilla , which was very good !! . I ordered mine with no sour cream and they made it with sour cream by mistake, but the cashier told me about the mistake ahead so I decided to eat with with sour cream. the quesadilla was nice, but was sorta on the soft side rather than more crispy , shrimp was done perfectly ,, it was made with cilantro , guacamole and sour cream in it , seemed like very skimpy amount of guacamole, hardly and cilantro and a good amount of sour cream. Nice, but given the nearly $17 price it should have a little more shrimp in it .
very good place, but they need to take it to the next level, not skimp on the portion sizes and the amount of protein in the food.. Prices are high , but in line with every one else's.. add the extra bit of food and effort and its worth...
Read moreFirst, I have to say the service was very friendly, and the food was excellent. I'm a California native and have been struggling to find good honest Mexican taquerias in wny, and this is right down the road from my house, so I was excited to try it. We ordered the chammaras fries and pollo quesadilla and both were good. The fries definitely could have been more crispy, but I'll chalk it up to this place being brand new. It also needed more topping or at least options for guac for a true carne asada fries experience. The quesadilla, according to my daughter, was the "best quesadilla, shes ever had. It was really good, too. My biggest gripe was the price. This is a small shop that's half of the buddies gas station (in San Diego or Texas, this is usually the sign of a proper diamond in the rough, lol) but the pricing didn't add up. Again, I know they're just starting out, but at the time of this review, a burrito was on the menu for $17.99. local competition would be close to $12 at Lloyd's or any local competition. I'd love to go back, and I wish nothing but success for a proper taqueria in the area, but the pricing definitely needs to be adjusted. I can't picture myself stopping by for a quick bite on my way to work and shelling out $18 for a...
Read moreAmazing Amazing Amazing That's all I can say. Was in there with my boyfriend last night? About 45 minutes before they close at 10 o'clock, which are great hours. Because we like our late night snacks. He just left a review. So I'm just going to say that if you like Mexican, this is the place to go. Don't be fooled, because it's in a gas station, it's actually better than any of the corporate Mexican restaurants we have in Buffalo and believe us we love Mexican and we've tried them this Is where we're going from now on... Who cares? If we've got to sit in a gas station to eat it, we actually live right up the road, so how convenient is that? You gotta try this place out. The food was amazing. The service was amazing. The food was so fresh and I loved the taco shells, not like those crummy drive through places I won't mention in Buffalo. This is the place to go, and it's actually worth the drive, even if you don't live close, it's even got a drive through. Which is really, really cool. It's inside buddy's gas station on the corner of maple and north forest. And if you love mexican, you'd be doing yourself an injustice, if you don't give them a shot, try it.I guarantee...
