This was my second visit to see if I just happend to get there on a bad day the first time.
Bagels are OK. Still not NYC quality, but that is a personal preference. Ordered the side of home fries which left quite a bit to be desired. Potatoes were not crispy, but rather seemed as if they were boiled, removed from water, drained and seasoning added. They are not cooked with the typical golden crisp one would expect home fries to have; whomever did the seasoning needs to be schooled. I would venture to say an exorbitant amount of onion powder was dumped in. Certainly it was not taste tested before serving. Quite a disappointment.
Entering the new establishment, you are greeted with people seated at an indoor cafeteria style setup with a number of other customers milling about. I had to ask each person if they ordered until I got to the person who hadn't. I guess I found the end of the line! There needs to be better organization of the people who have already ordered from the people who have not.
Overall, a decent place which I would have thought, figured things out by now, in their other locations and applied to this new venue. Maybe the third time...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe bagels are delicious and I love the lox spread. But, I also ordered an Italian sub (Little Nicky)... Brought it to work and saw the salami was brown around the edges and even on some of slices. I tried calling to let them know what happened, but it says their mailbox is not set up to receive messages. After work, I brought it back to OC Bagels and told the woman what happened. She looked at the sandwich, apologized and made me a new one. I got it home and this time there's plastic in it! It's from the packaging of the pepperoni. I was like, why is this so hard to chew? Ohh bc it has plastic in it! The people here are very nice and I appreciate the apology and for her to make a new one, but there is no way I'd ever get another sandwich from here. Twice in one day is awful! And of course I opened it after the place closed, so I couldn't call. Not that I'd go back there anyways bc it's not near me. I only went bc it's on my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNY is the place for the best pizza, bagels and rolls in the country (imo). However this place must transport you to Florida or the Midwest once you enter. They donāt make pizza but they call it a bagel shop. Worst bagels and rolls Iāve gotten in Orange County. The hard roll wasnāt hard. It was more like a dinner roll and the bagels are definitely not boiled bagels. They are just big bread. I could get the same quality from the supermarket.
Recently we bought corned beef sandwiches. Apparently they have it on the menu as hot but we didnāt order from the menu. We just asked for corned beef sandwiches. They should have asked if we meant cold or hot. They gave us hot. I was very unhappy with it. Iāll never go there again. There are many good bagel places and deliās nearby to do...
