I have to say, it is a rarity that you find a business whose expertise shines, but is surpassed by its professionalism which is overshadowed by its friendliness. Pinnacle and all the team there are truly one of those Unicorns. No matter when I've walked in, ordered a bottle or two (or maybe more :-)), had a question I emailed, needed to return something "faulty", I've always felt respected and like family. My time with them started a few years back when I first started getting "into" wine. That first day I felt like they wanted to get to know me, not just sell me a bottle, and its just grown from there. Everyone on the team have been there every time, helping me with recommendations, special orders, unique finds, special events, and much, much more. Give them a try! My very favorite wine and liquor store is Pinnacle Wine and Liquor on Monroe Ave where the owner, Matt Yaeger, and his staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and SO warmly friendly. Thanks to Matt and Katie, I have tasted the most delicious wines because of their Discovery Wine Club(there is also a Natural Wine Club). Each month I receive 2 bottles(1 white and 1 red) that, most assuredly, I would never have tasted had it not been for my WONDERFUL wine subscription. On top of this are the daily emails that Matt sends out featuring a wine on sale written with such detailed description that one can almost sniff and savor it in the moment. Not only have I enlarged my wine repertoire but I have become more knowledgeable about the terroir, wineries, vintners, distributors, etc. It has been and continues to be a joyful, exuberant experience to be a customer...

Really, really wanted to have a good experience here. Unfortunately the 3 customer service people made that impossible. No greeting when I walked in, and after wandering the store looking for a specific item I had to interrupt their conversation to get some help. When I found out they didn't have what I was looking for I thought they would recommend something similar or offer another suggestion...but nothing. He just walked away. I've never met anyone less interested in making a sale.They have a large selection and they're close to home...plus I love supporting small businesses. But it's probably the first time I've walked out of a liquor store empty handed (yes I know how that sounds). Maybe they should have offered to help before I was 6 inches from walking out...
