Howard's Cafe — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

This place was definitely good back in the day Went last night had a turkey burger that made me sick, all night long. Also after eating I walked to the restroom and the place is so dirty And the bathroom OMG Had I walked through prior to eating I never would have eaten here. Then our waitress disappeared so after tracking down someone else to give us our bill she forgets to give me my card back and yes I should have realized but I waited so long for the bill I guess I was rushing. I called back today to see if my card was there and asked for a manager. I spoke with Steve who was less than pleased to help me. I asked him who the manager was he said he didn't know. So he became very abrupt and told me "stop breaking my shoes" I do not recommend eating here. I have been going to this restaurant since I was 14 years old. The amount of food you get for the price is just great. I stopped in with my mother to eat last Monday. The place was packed, and the waitress was doing her best to keep up. I ordered wings and a Ken's best burger, and my mother had zucchini sticks and a blu cheese burger. The Apps took about 28min to arrive at the table, but they were tasty, so I didn't mind as much.

Our burgers were cooked the correct temp. My "saute onions" tasted like they were cooked in the deep frier. The onions were greasy and translucent. When you saute onions, they brown in color and begin to caramelize . My mother's burger was served with blu cheese dressing ? My mother and I were both expecting melted blu cheese crumbles.

Went for lunch. Waited an 15 minutes before the waitress Debbie came over to take our order due to her speaking to a different table about their careers and colleges. We waited an hour for the food. The food was tough, dry, and overcooked. When we let her know about the food, Debbie said “how did I know you were going to do this”. She then took the food back and said the kitchen ate it in the back and it was fine. We spoke to the bartender after asking for the manager and he came over instead. We decided to leave after being unable to eat the food. We stood up ask about the check Debbie said “what do they want?” And the bartender said “I don’t know what they want” as we stood there.
