Stella Trattoria & Bar — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

Money hungry, unaccommodating and rude. STELLA advertising private parties for weddings and sweet 16! So we had dinner and it was amazing. Met with Jim for our event explained everything wrote down the prices, absolutely LOVED IT!!! Food is by far 5 stars. So we decided to book our wedding with the assistant and front desk. Then correspondence or lack there of continued with Melissa the "catering woman." I called to get a with some questions, get an estimate for final price with fees & taxes, and she tells me because the price is $54.95 pp not 44.95PP. I said "but Jim wrote it down" and Melissa replies "He didn't write on your contract so Ithere nothing you can do" I should've canceled right then but I really like the place. I also stated I want to change the time and be in the starlight room, she replies "don't worry your going to be in that room regardless."

A day or 2 later I see on Instagram a holiday party had a DJ. So I call Melissa, because what's a wedding without music. Well I don't care what Melissa tried to playitout as a guitarist that man was a DJ. So she gives me his name and says you can book him privately. Well he was booked at another venue so he told me, and I texted her I had someone else,t she said "ill get back to you on that but can my social media photographer come to your event." Well sure free photography why not. She never got back to me. As seen on Instagram and the party folder they give you they hold the ceremony there so I texted Melissa, I would like to discuss setting up, she says "I'm away for the weekend" My fiance called 10 DAYS BEFORE OUR WEDDING AND SHE SAYS WELL YOU CANT HAVE MUSIC HERE YOU'LL DISTURB OUR BAR MUSIC AND OTHER GUEST'S. Nothing made any sense, it's ok to hire your bar guy privately whose booked for something else and I can't have even a little speaker in a private room bc it will disturb guests.. Well we definitely took out money elsewhere and got way more, better service and were treated with courtesy. UPDATE: Melissa took 2 days to text me with "great news" that we have the big room and can have music... WHAAATT!? We had this conversation weeks prior where the heck is her head! I politely told her that we were going with a different venue. I will always recommend Stella as a great date night with amazing food but really this was a terrible...

I was very excited about our 7:30 pm reservations with my family. I noticed google review had 4.3 stars but the people who reviewed this establishment must of gave 5 stars to White Castle!! On our arrival we noticed for a Saturday night the restaurant was half full. The hostess proceeded to sit us at a 4 top in the busiest part of the restaurant. We ordered mussels for an appetizer which took at least 20 minutes so we thought WOW this must be worth the wait . When the mussels arrived, half were unopened and the broth had no flavor at all. We knew then we were in trouble. After waiting yet another half an hour our entrees finally came out. My wife ordered the special, steamed Seaford Platter that was recommended by the waiter. I ordered Veal Sinatra and my son ordered Surf and Turf. The Veal Sinatra looked like a bad Chinese take out dish ,soupy and the veal was tough. Surf and Turf came with planko buttered lobster with no lobster shell steak and was undercooked. The Steamed Seaford Platter was the worst. ENTIRE DISH WAS COVERED IN THE SAME PLANKO AND BUTTER SAUCE.Red snapper was heavenly covered with buttered planko. When I cut into the Snapper the fish did not flake which told me it was at least 2 weeks old . The scollops were not scollops they looked like they were punched out from skate wings. These entries were over $50.00 each . The owner and chef should be ashamed for putting out such poor quality food. If u dine at this restaurant make sure u bring a portable potty in your vehicle because this food will go right through you!! Not quality food for what they...

I’m sorry to have to give a not so great review. I will start by saying reservations were easy and food was good. The problem started when they brought our food. We ordered a Fettuccine dish that was on the specials menu and they brought the wrong thing. We were a party of 6 and 2 children. No big deal. They took it back and brought the right thing in a reasonable amount of time. By the time we were finished eating the kids were getting restless so we paid the $400+ bill and left. When we got home we realized they had charged us for the wrong fettuccine dish as well as the right one. And then to top it all off they added a service charge for using a credit card to pay. That was an additional $15. When I called to have it corrected it was a big disaster for them and even the manager made a big deal about crediting it back to me and basically insisted that I had to take it in the form of a gift card. Sorry not acceptable when it was their mistake. When I asked about the credit card fee she said that it was because of Covid and next time we should just bring cash. She claimed there was a sign by the door as soon as we walked in about it. When my son and husband went back to get the gift card credit they witnessed someone putting the sign up by the door so obviously it WAS NOT there when we walked in! Needless to say we will not be going back and the gift card will be just that. A gift to someone else who still wants to go there. It...
