From the moment my mother and I sat down at the bar, we were greeted with dirty looks, reluctant and slow service, mediocre and overpriced food, and just overall unwelcoming vibes. The bar staff were all very cold and unfriendly, one of them refusing to even look at me while she took my order. Not a smile from anyone. Our food took almost and hour (fried wings and a sandwich and fries) even though the gigantic dining area was totally desolate, and it seemed like there weren't that many customers. (and the ones that were there were also complaining about the wait time) I later found out that it's because they only have a couple of cooks inside a tiny kitchen. If you're going to run a restaurant, you need to have enough supply to keep up with the demand, and when the demand is the bare-minimum and you still can't keep up with it, you have a problem. And if you're going to take forever making the food, it better be delicious and/or affordable- sadly their food was neither. The wings were not worth even half of the asking price- they were greasy, bland, and scrawny. Like if McDonald's came out with chicken wings- that's what they would taste like. The chicken sandwich was probably the best part of the ENTIRE experience- so thank you to whoever made it. The fries were ok, but the thing is I asked for cheese fries. And when I got them, they were regular fries with a $2 dipping cup of Velveeta on the side. Not the same thing. Add on top of that a weak $10 cocktail, and a $3 iced tea, and you have the absolute worst birthday dinner ever. Yep, it was my birthday. And now I'll remember it as the night my mom got robbed in Cairo. Whoever is leaving all these 5 star reviews on yelp and Facebook- yall are either not being honest, or you need to raise your standards. This is not a business model with...
Read moreNot very friendly in this place. It was our first time here and did not know of their odd concession style ordering process. When we finally were told by another dining patron as the staff who let us in and watched us sit also watched us for 5-10 minutes sit there, we went up to order. The young girl who took our order was nice enough but as we were giving our order the other guy behind the bar is talking with guests who obviously were talking about us as they all looked at us saying “and it begins” “ they’re already flocking up” “is it September yet” as the guy behind the bar said something like he hopes it’s not like last years crowd. Well here’s the issue, we’re locals, not your god awful out of towners as you assumed us to be. I’m not sure if it was the confused look from us as your establishments set up is not of the norm and for a first time visitor we didn’t know your process, maybe it was that we were still in our dressed up work clothes and didn’t come in dressed like we were going to the fair, and quite frankly I’m not sure what the issue was at all even if we were from out of town but being a 13 year, land owning, tax paying resident you can bet your bucks I won’t be back. I will say your guys in the kitchen were nicer and had more personality than those running the front of house. I’d definitely say to kick up the training and standards of your dining area staff and be a little more friendly and establish a “Welcome to our brewery, have you dined with us before” type of welcome statement to those coming in your doors. It would probably save some of us the confusion and glaring looks you and your...
Read moreThe atmosphere of this brewery is really what gets you, if you’re from the community. I love to see used-to-be business buildings re-purposed and cared for like this. The service was really good, I liked the ease of ordering food at the bar, being able to keep a tab open, choosing your own seat (which there is a HUGE amount of space both inside and outside), the rustic decorations, and the noise level. So many times you go to a brewery and it’s overwhelmingly loud; not here. The food was great - we ordered the fish and chips, 4 oz burger, and pork loin - all done really well. The fries could have been hotter. There are a ton of beer options, though I’d like to have seen more wine options. 2 drinks each + 3 dinners came to $100 which was a little surprising but at the time we didn’t mind because we were having a good time. Good place for kids, too because the atmosphere was not overwhelmingly about alcohol, it just felt like a nice place to hang. The only real downside and reason for 4 stars, they only have 1 high hair. I’m not a big fan of brining babies to breweries, but we came for the food so it was definitely a concern that we wouldn’t be able to stay because I possibly didn’t score the high chair in time. A couple extra would be appreciated, unless the atmosphere of the brewery is not intended for families with small kids, in which case I’ll just have to come back for date night...
