I love Green Acres Ice Cream. I have been a customer for over 23 years, I brought my children here, and played mini golf numerous times. But today I was mistreated by an employee and the so-called general manager. I went to the window to get my ice cream and a young asian girl came to the window, I politely said hello to her and she did not respond, just had a look of disgust on her face, I then tried to break the ice by saying smile... and she said nothing to me, just proceeded with her dirty look. I gave her my order and waited. And I asked her for her name, and told her that I know the owners; they are lovely people, and we have been coming here for years. I also told her to have a nice day. Well, I thought that was the end of it. An older man came out, met me at my car, and proceeded to inform me that the young lady had started crying, and she was so nice; he did not believe anything I said.I was offended by that. He did not witness the behavior, but even after I explained what happened, he did not care. Well, I care, and this is just an example of the micro racial aggressions present in today's society. I have no reason to be indifferent to his young lady. But I will tell you how this made me feel: unwelcome. I am so tired of spending my money on organizations or businesses that treat people rudely and are not accountable for their behavior. I would love to have a conversation with the owners. The only reason this girl started crying was because she was rude and knew she was wrong. I asked for her name and told her I knew the owners. I had no intention of reporting her behavior, but it should be motivation not to treat people the way she treated me. Have a blessed day. I will spend my money in a better...
Read moreGreen Acres by far has the best ice cream. I use to go only to dairy queen but since giving Green Acres a try I've not returned back to DQ. Now Don't get me wrong DQ has good Ice cream, but it's all about the varieties and quality as well as the affordability. That's where these 2 do not compare. Not only can you get an enormous array of flavors but you get all the best of Perry's ice cream at that. I have never in my life seen so many flavors of ice cream in one place. They have 100's of flavors of everything. From cones to sundaes to shakes to soft serve to hard. Plus they offer a frozen healthy doggie treat your furry baby will love, made just for them. Green Acres offers slushies and different flavor lemon ice. You truly have to try them out. Plus they have the putting range for those golfers who just want to practice their swing. Four!!!! Lol or for the whole family they have putt putt. This truly is fun and affordable. A family coming here is way less expensive then say 2 ppl going to DQ. It's right on Broadway Ave just before Boarden. I believe it's still in Cheektowaga but it could be Depew right there. You truly have to give them a try. I promise you, you won't be disappointed. If anything you will have a hard time figuring out what you want to have 1st. But that's the fun part. This way it brings you back more and more to see what else they have that's yummy Happy Ice...
