Pubski Pub — Restaurant in Town of Cheektowaga

I review new restaurants each week and this was some of the lowest quality food I've ever reviewed. Let me start with the positives, the waitress was friendly and provided good service, the atmosphere was fine and appeared clean, the 3 dips that came with the garlic bread were good, (banana pepper, spinach artichoke, and buffalo chicken wing dips) especially the chicken wing dip, (that was by far the best thing we had) the inside of the potato pierogi was nice and creamy and had a good flavor. The Krakow chowder was not fresh, it's like something that had been sitting there that they just reheated it was not good. The pierogies came in a pool of dirty oil. You know when you cook food in a dirty frying pan and all those little black particles are in the oil, it was absolutely awful. If they had been fried in a clean pan they would have been good because the actual pierogi itself as far as the texture and the flavor of the fillings were good, but the fact that they fried it in a dirty pan and they were covered in that dirty oil made them terrible. The garlic bread that came with the dips was just a cheap cut up sub roll and was just low quality. But the worst thing was the beef stew, that must have been sitting around for at least a week and then reheated, it was not fresh at all, the carrots were hard, the meat was tender but very fatty, the potatoes and gravy did not seem fresh, nothing about the entire dish seemed fresh at all. I have no idea how this place has high ratings but id imagine that the people who rated this food good have low standards and are probably used to frozen TV dinners because most of it was low quality, reheated, and not even close to...

Decided to try a new spot because it was close to home.Also I was referred there from a friend for their delicious food.Celebrating my friends birthday.This hole in the wall spot was very small uncomfortable and outdated.With only about six people in this establishment on a Friday evening about 7:30pm they were very unwelcoming!We waited at a seat at the bar for about ten minutes for the bartender talking to the two other girls in the back somewhere to ask us what we wanted to drink.I yelled to everyone it was my friends birthday that we were celebrating and who would like a shot with us…no response.I ordered my usual..a beer,wasn’t offered a glass or ice.Never offered a menu.We asked for some change to play music and were told there wasn’t music allowed at that time because people were watching the television.Fifteen dollars for a rum and coke and a beer…Outrageous!We drank our drinks quickly and wanted a refill but bartender was back in the kitchen chatting w the staff again as she took her time coming back out to serve us.She was snappy and impatient with my friend ordering as she was deciding what drink she wanted next because she wasn’t happy with her first drink as it tasted watered down and asked the bartender to make the next one a bit stronger so she could taste the alchohol.At that point my friend was ready to leave and find a better spot with friendly people and service.Never got to try the food and won’t either because we will not be returning there!Over priced drinks,unfriendly people and bad service!How are they even still open?NO music at a bar during happy...

June 2022 Update: Ordered a fish fry here for pickup, specifically the seafood platter. Was told it would be a 45 minute wait. Seemed a little long but it's the dinner hour so that's on me. When I arrived, a couple minutes early, the bartender was no where in sight. She was busy hauling food and taking orders elsewhere. Waited at least 10 minutes. When she finally got back to the bar, she collected my order which was SITTING AT THE OTHER END OF THE BAR NEAR THE BATHROOM. The food was just warmer than room temp and I have no idea it'd been sitting there before I arrived. This is NOT on the bartender. It was clear she was overworked and doing the job of two people at least. It is, however, ridiculous and unsanitary that a customer's order would be sitting next to a restroom awaiting pickup instead of on a warming tray or other staging area. Please do better, guys, I want to keep coming here. Revising my 4/5 star review to a 2 star and will revise again if they get better.

Stopped in because I live around the block but haven't been here since they opened in February 2021. Ordered the golabki (beef & cabbage) soup and the polish garbage plate. Was very impressed by both.
