Taqueria La Mexicana — Restaurant in Town of Cortlandt

This was an old deli that served some Mexican food which has now been revitalized and turned around by Fatima, the new owner. I have been here in the new place a couple of times now and really can’t recommend it enough. All the Mexican classics. Tortas, tacos, burritos, and much more. Sizeable portions, delicious and just like the food I had in Mexico City. They are all friendly with great service and ready to make you that Mexican food that you’re craving. I highly recommend the birria tacos, absolutely scrumdiddliumptous.

I’ve visited the deli next door, where there’s always a tempting selection of freshly cooked food as well as made-to-order items from the menu. Everything I’ve tried has been absolutely delicious! The same cook also prepares the food for the adjoining Mexican restaurant, so I’m confident the quality there is just as good. The deli features a variety of platters and tacos including Birria, Steak, Chorizo. All are full of flavor. They also offer a discount if you pay in cash. Friendly service to boot. The deli attached to this place is horrible. Once again, I arrived home with my take-out order to find that the sandwich was different than what I ordered. For one rb on roll, small container potato salad, the price was $21.30. Even by today's high prices for things, that's a little much. They also get around charging 3% surcharge (which is illegal in all 50 states) by saying they give a 3% discount for using cash. I do not recommend...
