I had tamales con puerco (pork) and churros with vanilla bean ice cream with a cocktail called Media Luna which is mezcal, strawberry syrup, cointreau and lemon juice. It was served in a terracotta mug and the rim was coated with tajin. The first sip was an amazing flavor bomb that left a lasting and satisfying impression on my taste buds. My tamale was tender and moist and the pork inside was seasoned and slightly salty which was really appealing and the churros…ohh my goodness, they’re served warm and they’re coated in cinnamon sugar, crunchy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside - they were almost creamy! I have to say that all three parts of my meal were distinctively different in flavor, but they complimented one another, one flavor wasn’t dominated by the other.
