Riga-Tony's Delicatezzi Italiano — Restaurant in Town of Delavan

I heard rumor of this Italian Deli off the beaten path that people drive from Chicago, Milwaukee, etc to go to, and had to try it for myself.

When I walked in I knew they were on to something. The right storefront is a classic deli with an Italian twist with a well stocked meat market that looked incredibly fresh.

The right storefront is a restaurant with a counter and tables. The counter has meatballs, stuffed peppers, lasagna, etc.

I was told the Italian Beef sandwich was a must-try, and the girl working the counter confirmed it. I got the combo (beef and sausage) dipped, with hot peppers and cheese. It was easily one of the top 3 Italian beef sandwiches I've ever had, probably #3. The beef was thick sliced with great flavor. The giardineria was plenty hot with good flavor. The bread was fresh but didnt fall apart.

One of the owners gave me a meatball in gravy (marinara sauce) to try and it was amazing. He said all the recipes are his 93 year old grandmothers.

I asked for the next recommended thing to try. They said either the spinach lasagna or the steak sandwich. I got a steak sandwich to go. Now, granted, I didnt try it until many hours later when it was room temperature. Some things are still amazing many hours later at room temperature. The steak sandwich was good under those circumstances, but not amazing.

What can I say other than you just do not find deli/restaurants like this very often. This is truly a gem in the area and a must for anyone visiting the Lake Geneva area. The owner actually shook my hand and told me about himself and his business. I could not believe that someone was still willing to do that in today’s world. Anthony is the type of person that still makes me believe in people! You can certainly tell the amazing food is simply a product of their passion. As for the food…. We purchased a ton of different items from soups to bread to eggplant parmesan. For me, the best was the homemade spaghetti sauce and meatballs. My kids loved the fresh made cannoli and tiramisu. My wife loved the deli and the breaded pork tenders! Opposite the deli there is a small restaurant where you can sit down and have lunch or dinner. My husband and I used RigaTony's catering for our wedding this August and we loved it! The food was absolutely delicious and it was perfectly priced for what we were hoping to spend. We had a lot of our guests come tell us they enjoyed their dinner! Then for dessert we had cannoli, which were such a hit! I only wish we had gotten more, which is a pretty good problem to have.

The customer service leading up to the event was great. Tiffany was our primary contact and she was so helpful throughout the process of getting everything set up. We also had great delivery, day of, when it was not ideal weather around that point in the day! We really appreciated the set up.
