Bi Kitchen — Restaurant in Town of Dover

My wife and I were visiting Dover Plains when she decided to place a carry out order from this restaurant. As I go in to pick up the order, I see a gentlemen in from of me picking up his order. Once he was done, I approach the counter where I encounter a young girl who just stares at me without uttering a single word. Meanwhile, I am staring back at her expecting some sort of greeting or acknowledgement. When none was forthcoming, I finally say, “I was waiting on you to say something” as she continues to stare at me. I finally say I am here to pick up my order. Once she confirms my order, I ask “are you ok?” She responds “yeah” and gives me the order total. Once she makes my change, she walks back into the kitchen. I understand finding good help is problematic, but basic customer service skills should be a requirement for anyone in a customer facing role. At least it is in my business. For the price point (which seems identical to Amenia's Yi Kitchen, in FreshTown Plaza), the food is great (five stars easily!). My only complaint is the premises. You know that something is off when the cashier -- working directly next to the stove -- greets you wearing a winter coat! The windows' scant insulation let in Arctic drafts, as did the door. The space heater is merely a prop! There is a gumball vending machine, which lets you play pinball with your gumballs as they drop down for your quarter. I ordered the hot and spicy shrimp and got a few tiny shrimp in orange sauce and a TON of onions with a few broccoli and a few pieces of green pepper...DID NOT TASTE GOOD! My son ordered the chicken chow mein and In his plate was a TON of celery, and a few pieces of chicken! TERRIBLE I read the reviews and thought I would have the same great experience but I did not! There was one young man there who appeared to be the person who did everything from phones to counter to cooking!
