Three children and four adults came in on Monday evening, We ordered the Hotel Sampler, thinking it was going to be fairly a lot of food, three of us ordered salads, one of the children ordered a hot dog, one a burger, and one a cheese burger off from the kids menu. The sampler came, and we could not believe what we saw.; three mozzarella sticks, four pieces of chicken drenched in hot sauce, running all into the mozzarella sticks, six fries pickles, and three fried half white mushrooms, all for 14.99. When the waitress came over, we asked her where the other half of this was, she said you have to come in at happy hour and it is half price, How does that pertain to this moment? Two of us asked for a side of fries to go with our salad after we experienced the skimpy hotel sampler. The waitress came out with two of the childrens meals, and one of the adults meals, and told us that they were out of hotdogs. The waitress should have known this before she took our order, or at least when the cook was looking at the slip, not a good time to come to the table when the orders are up, to tell your customer that something is 86. Then she brought the salads, and those were quite pitiful, about five minutes later, the sides of fries arrive, I ordered brew fries, the other person had shoe string, they were both on the same plate, we had to split them, there were about 8 of each. Working in the business for over 15 years in some of the nicest restaurants on the coast of southern Maine, I know a lot about food and service. The atmosphere was nice, but the service and food did not compliment it. When I pay 100,00 for dinner, I expect the service and food to measure up to the price. This was like driving a Porsche, with a volks wagon engine. We are new to the area, this is one place that I will not...
Read moreThese reviews are skewed big time. This establishment offers a free draft beer of your choice if you leave a review 4 stars or higher. Perhaps honest would be best! Great marketing but terrible morale.
I have stopped in multiple times unfortunately, as this is a central meeting point for my friends and family. Nothing has changed I assure you. And the management currently is quite immature, and very inexperienced. It is a constant rotation of servers as well as management and it has been since Cassie was forced to quit. Letâs be realistic here. Itâs very clearly an issue with the office manager and everyone knows it. The three previous Managers that you are bashing are all managers of other very successful businesses, whereas it is widely known that the hotel is and has been struggling.
The food is alright at best. We had a cheese pizza, wings, a salad and some drinks. The pizza was absolutely terrible, hardly any cheese and the sauce tasted raw and straight from a can. The wings were undercooked and had barely any sauce on them. We did ask the waitress for more sauce but it was never brought. The server was also the bartender and very clearly did not know how to make a single drink, as all of ours were mostly soda and little to no ice. The only thing that was even subpar was the Caesar salad, and even that was not great for the price as it barely had any chicken on it. We asked to speak with a manager and was told she was busy with her own tables. We stayed for another half hour waiting for her but she hid in the kitchen instead. If all of this wasnât bad enough, while waiting just inside the door, we saw a cockroach run into a rolled silverware that was on the table by the door. Needless to say we will not be returning , and a call to the health department was made from the...
Read moreThis was by far the worst experience I have had here. Normally, the food is decent (even though) the prices are a little high. Tonight I ordered fried fish and the bartender told me they only had baked and broiled. I asked again about the fried, because it is on the menu and she stated that the fried was basically the same as baked. I explained that baked and fried were nothing like each other. She went in the kitchen and returned to say the second cook told her they could do fried fish. I ordered a 1/2 portion, which came with a side salad, coleslaw, and French fries. When my plate arrived, I couldnât believe what I was seeing. The piece of haddock had been sliced down the center (longwise) and then fried. It was completely overcooked and dried out. It was basically inedible. The fries were good, but the coleslaw had a thick mayo-like consistency and had no flavor. I ate a few of the French fries and 1/2 of my side salad. The bartender asked me if I wanted a box and I told her no, because that was the absolute worst piece of fish I had ever had. I had never seen a piece of fish cut and cooked lengthwise. She proceeded to cash us out and give us our bill. We had planned on staying for a couple more drinks, but decided that was her way of telling us we were done. (I will try to upload a picture, but unsure...
