Carol's Deli — Restaurant in Town of East Fishkill

My family and I are new to the neighborhood. My husband stopped in today for a bagel and some coffee. There were a group of older gentlemen sitting and talking for while in the deli as my husband was eating. Those older gentlemen wasn't wearing their masks for a while, long after they finished their meal. It's assumed that these guys are regulars at this deli. Their interaction was very familiar with the staff which is fine. A short while after the customers departure my husband was approached by a waitress, asking if he could put on his mask. We will follow rules of businesses and other establishments. However, rules should apply to all customers, not just some. Extremely disappointed with Carol’s Deli. My daughter and I both got omelettes and home fries. The omelettes were dry and tasteless and the home fries tasted like they were cooked in rancid/expired oil. Absolutely inedible and we could barely get it down. When we brought our plates up to the counter to pay - plates that were clearly still full of food - no one asked if there was a problem with the meal or why our plates were still full. They simply stated the amount and that was it. Also there was no heat on in the place in the middle of winter. Extremely unwelcoming atmosphere and service. I’m not from the area, so I found this play on google saw that it had good reviews decided to try it out,I walk in and I knew this was my kind of place, very clean, polite staff. I order a custom Sandwich, when the lady rang me up she told me “your sandwich looks really good”. I didn’t think anything of it until I opened my sandwich and bam mmm there it was this beautiful sandwich with the perfect amount of every ingredient. One bite and I was hooked, from the bread to the portion it was all just perfect. I would highly recommend this place to anybody.
