I have been to this restaurant four times over the past couple of years. I have previously reviewed this as a friendly place with great service and good food hidden in Celeron NY. Tonight driving back home I knew we would in the area so talked my sister in law niece and mother in law we should go to the main landing we called and they had seats for us, we arrived they too an extra long time for water and drinks then ordering. Yes they were busy. Then we waited over 45 minutes , for food nobody check d for refills or came and told us the kitchen was backed up it was hot and empty waters and drinks. Food order was not correct one person did not get part of order we waited again and then our group started eating finally the waitress came back again we asked for drink refills and the missing side she did not apologize just stormed off. I finally went into restaurant to ask for drink refills and to complain about waitress attitude. We asked for manager another person came out stated they would get our side and drinks I saw her then go down on lower deck talk to owner I have met before when I did an interview with local paper about this wonderful place which is not wonderful anymore.the girl came back with a 15.00 gift certificate for a three bill table no apology no refills on drinks and handed us our bills we paid. And we’re leaving entire wait staff standing around bar wished us goodnight very sarcastically and we complained again no one apologized I told them we would let everyone we know how bad this place was they said they don’t care what we do and who we tell. Then my one guest was in bathroom could hear them complaining about how our group was snotty and telling them how to do their jobs so she went and gave them a piece of her mind on what customer service should be. I will not be using the gift card and not returning. Which makes me very sad because I had had a bad day and was looking forward this dinner and had bragged about this place which does not care anymore. ...
Read moreMy experience was horrible! The waitress stomped off because my uncle complained about his over cooked hamburger and undercooked fries. When the manager came out we we even said "we get it, we were waiters once, the kitchen gets backed up, but someone could of came out and told us, and the drinks should of kept coming." They then asked for their water and coffee and instead the manager brought us our checks and the 6 of us ONE 15 dollar gift certificate. They thought we left but I had to go back in to wash my hands. I could hear them talking about us. The host asked "so what happened out there?" I heard her say "well i guess their food took too long (which it did, almost an hour wait.) And stuff wasn't cooked right." The host then says "oh so they're just snotty ppl." I said excuse me? This is how u treat ur customers? We're the customers, ur the workers. Y'all need to work on ur manners and learn how to apologize when things go wrong. " We're the ones paying for food that we expect to come out right. I heard the guy at the table behind us say that his burger was over done and his fries were under done, it was suppose to be the other way around. That waitress said "OH MY GOD!! I AM SO SORRY!! Would like some clams?" Our waitress stomped off. We had asked for ketchup twice, waters three times, coffee three times, also I ordered my son french fries, he never got them either, after we had asked for a kids menu 4 times. They had to "locate it", I have NEVER been to a RESTAURANT that didn't have a kids menu. Bars yes i could see that but a restaurant? They actually tried to charge me for his fries he never got. I get it was probably slammed before we got there. I get it that everyone is probably tired and their feet hurt. But that is no excuse to treat customers like that and then call us names. I have never been so disappointed at restaurant in a long time. All they had to do was communicate, apologize and check on us. I woukd give this place zero stars but it...
Read moreI'm sorry to have to give this local restaurant a negative rating, because I've enjoyed dining there in the past, and prefer supporting local businesses to chains. My boyfriend and I dined there June 25. Both of us ordered the fish fry. Although the menu stated, "no substitutions," when I ordered a side salad for an additional $2.00, our waitress asked if I'd like to substitute the salad for the fries. I said I did. THIS WAS SOMETHING OFFERED BY OUR SERVER, AND NOT SOMETHING I ASKED FOR. My boyfriend ordered the same, plus a salad. The server also asked him if he'd like to substitute, and he said he wanted everything: fries, coleslaw and a salad. I also ordered the drink special, which was a strawberry Mojito. Food was good. Mojito was okay, but didn't seem to have much alcohol in it. When our check came, I noticed that both of our dinners were priced the same ($12.00 plus $2.00 for salads.), even though I didn't have any fries. I brought this to our waitress' attention, and she said I was correct. My boyfriend said he'd be willing to pay the additional charge for the salad as long as the $3.00 charge for the fries was removed. Our waitress said she'd be right back. She returned an interminable ten minutes later with the owner. The owner curtly advised us that she had removed the $2.00 charge, however she pointed to the menu, showing me the "no substitutions" verbiage. When I advised her that it wasn't my request, but our server's offer, she again pointed to the menu. Honestly, had she been gracious about it, I wouldn't be writing this review, but she blamed me for not following the rules. We paid our check and left, and have no intentions of returning any time in the near future. P.S. BUYER BEWARE! The Mojito was priced at $12.50. I should have asked before ordering, so that was on me, but considering the cost of the fish fry was $12.00, the drink was...
