Was so good I ordered food from Kamara's twice in same evening! First time was to bring sampling of various dishes to a group of friends getting together earlier in the evening. I ordered enough for them to sample and more on top of that so I would have dinner later. My friends loved it so much they pretty much ate all I purchased leaving me with only scraps! Fortunately Kamara's was open to 10 pm and so I placed a second order to take home for dinner (and lunch the next day). Everything I ordered was so good, flavorful and meat tender. I ordered Goat Pepper Soup. Once with rice. 2nd time with Fufu which I have never had before. Goat meat was tender/fall off the bone. Soup (almost stew) was so flavorful. And I liked the Fufu! I highly recommend ordering fried plantains! Wonderfully seasoned, tasty. So good I ordered those twice! For dinner at home I also ordered Jollof with Chicken. AMAZING! Sauce & flavors are to die for! I look forward to going again and having my meal there. I'm especially pleased to see they are not far from the barge canal so when on a very long bike ride I am very likely to visit them to get some Ginger Juice and at a minimum Fried Plantains -...
Read moreOne thing for sure I love the spicy pepper side. The best spicy chili ever. Feels like home. I wish they put more in that small container. I would just eat that, with rice. It tasted awesome.
The actual food, it tasted ok. I feel as if I were eating a left over and not freshly cook chicken or fish. The protein always tasted like left over food. Tasted dry and not juicy. The chicken I had was like super crunchy. The meat was like hard / crunchy / not soft or juicy anymore. It reminds me my mom's leftovers. She would take leftovers chicken, wash it, then fry it and cook it again with new sauce. That is what this chicken tasted like. Leftovers that was cooked or refried again, causing the meat to be hard / dry / crunchy. You can barely taste the soft meat.
I still eat it, but not sure I would pay a high price for leftovers.
I would eat there again, probably I will try again once a year. Unless if they could prepare fresh protein. For real freshly cook chicken or fish, I would pay for it everyday.
Usually they said you get what you paid for. Sadly for this, I don't get what...
Read moreI love all different types of food despite me being vegetarian. If I could give them a zero I would. When I walked in I told the gentleman I was vegetarian and asked if they could do a veggie platter (side of fufu, cassava, rice, cabbage- something like so). He said I can choose anything on the menu without meat- so basically no. All the dishes were stews assuming they were cooked in meat. He lied and said they cook the meat separate. Not true! He was so rude and unfriendly. He finally recommended fufu with “gravy”- onions tomatoes peppers in a sauce. When I got home the “gravy” spilled all inside my bag and consisted of nothing but a can of oil and some fried onions. They also charged me $15! I was so angry I called and told them that my food spilled bc instead of putting it in a sealed container, they put it in a to go box and it was nothing but oil. He was rude and said bring it back and hung up. I think people forget if you want a successful local business, it comes with good customer service. Do...
