Chef King Rochester — Restaurant in Town of Gates

UPDATE 10/07/24: Chef King has become our go-to restaurant for take-out Chinese food. We've ordered food from here probably once a month during the last 12 months and our orders have always been correct, served very hot, and ready for pick up in 15 minutes or less, regardless if we're ordering just two meals or 10 meals for family/friends. Phone ordering is easy, and the food is DELICIOUS! Portion sizes are very generous at reasonable prices. Their quart containers always contain more than enough food to give us two full meals each. When we want to order take-out Chinese food on Rochester's west side, this is the ONLY place we go to. Exceptional! *FYI, this is take-out only (no dine-in, no delivery), so there's no "atmosphere" here. Enjoy, and thanks for reading!

08/06/23: Ok, so this place was a bit of a surprise for us. We saw the decent reviews and decided to take a chance and order food from Chef King recently because we didn't feel like driving out to our favorite Chinese Restaurant in Webster. Ordering two meals over the phone was fast and easy. A pleasant women took my order and told me it would be ready in 10 minutes. Ten minutes?? Yeah, right. Well, when I got there 10 minutes later, they were just finishing packing up my order and brought it right out to me. *NOTE: There is no dine-in option here, take-out/pick-up only. Plenty of free parking is available. I have to say, the food was surprisingly good, and the portions were very large. Large enough for us to get two ample meals from each of our orders. Our orders of Moo goo gai pan and Sweet & sour pork totaled just over $24 with tax, so it was reasonably priced also. For us, it's a plus having a restaurant on the west side of the city for really good Chinese food, and we'd definitely order from...

This might be one of the best Chinese Take-Out places I’ve been to ever! The lady that took my call order was sweet and nice and told me that my food would be ready in 10-15 minutes, which was a believable and fair time. I decided to drive to Chef King 10 minutes later and the food was already under the counter! The lady at behind the counter asked me for my phone number and confirmed with me if my order was all correct (it made me happy because they care that you get the right order and double checks). Their portions of the food were very big and was enough to make me full and it was very tasty as well. The chefs in the back that were cooking looked very determined and hard working and I must say that the cashier knows how to treat their customers right. I went back to my car after I got my food and I saw the lady take out an order that a elderly ordered and brought it to their car which was very nice of her. The parking lot was also very large and had plenty of spaces to park in and wasn’t very crowded which was great. I’m coming again Chef King! Their delivery zone is very small. At 8 minutes away, and pretty much a straight drive down Howard Road, followed by a left turn onto Brooks Ave, the Wegman's distribution center is 2.4 miles away from this restaurant, making it the closest Chinese restaurant with more than 3 stars that claims to deliver.

Yummy Yummy is 10 minutes away, at 3 miles from the Wegman's DC, and they deliver.

Maybe ask how big the order is going to be before deciding how far to deliver. That would have been a fifty dollar order, plus 25% tip.

I wouldn't have bothered leaving feedback, but they hung up on me the first time I called, then put the phone down to answer the other line and take that order first. Is it polite to make someone wait that long just to tell them that you don't want...
