This is for the Floral Department at Wegmans. My husband and I were married on April 21, 2017. I visited the floral department in Wegmans on Lyell Avenue a couple months before my wedding to discuss my bridal bouquet. At first, the floral department was easy to work with. The manager and I talked through my color scheme and looked at different flowers and together we came up with the perfect arrangement for my bouquet. The manager arranged for me to pick up my bouquet on the morning of my wedding and she informed me that my bouquet would be prepared the night before. It was a smooth process...until the actual wedding day. On the morning of my wedding, two of my bridesmaids went to Wegmans on Lyell Ave to pick up my bouquet and they were informed that the flowers I had picked out with the manager were no longer available. My bridesmaids called me with the news and I was so disappointed and I wondered why they hadnāt contacted me in advance before the day of the wedding if they realized they wouldnāt be able to complete what they promised. That was extremely unprofessional and it put me in a very tight situation because I had to figure out a backup plan over the phone hours before my wedding. In the end, the flowers Wegmans arranged in my new bouquet were nice, but they were very different than our original agreement and the flowers were not very fresh and some of the petals were wilted. To say I was disappointed is an understatement and I cannot confidently recommend the floral department at the Wegmans on Lyell Avenue because of this experience. I hope they demonstrate better service in the future. I wish I could have written this review even sooner for brides who may have used Wegmans floral services since last year, but unfortunately I've been away traveling a lot until now. I hope the Floral Department reviews and improves...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWegmans is hands down the top contender in the ring of supermarkets. Great customer service, atmosphere, culture and people. Wegmans figured out how to create consistent and effective training across all employee levels so the shopping experience is practically mirrored state to state. Great in house prepared foods and deli. The pizza shop is good quality and Brooklyn style-ish but $3 is steep for a slice 1/2 the size of most other reputable pizza shops along with more than a sprinkle of toppings. Order a whole pizza, better value but still needs work. The coffee shops are decent but can't compete in the same arena with even local/independent cafe's/shops. The sub shops are good and have wraps but overall are still beaten by many other sub shops like Dibellas. Wegmans modeled after them but still fall short in toppings, size, quality and overall creative variety. There is a cheese shop, seafood/meat department, bakery, bulk section, hot/cold foods bar, aisles galore, large cafe seating/frozen foods section and a massive produce selection. On top of all that, J.D Powers named their pharmacies the best in customer satisfaction of 2018. Of course each store is relatively large enough to house the above mentioned but each new built store is spacious and awe inspiring in design internally and externally. I have frequented many Wegmans locations countless times per week religiously over 20 years and personally recommend the experience that is Wegmans. I would rate "6" stars if possible, pending the corrections of the constructive criticism mentioned above. Keep up the great work Wegmans family and keep expanding state to state, as Rochester is proud of your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis store has taken a turn for the worse in the last month. I have started to shop elsewhere. Went on 8/1/15 at 6:15 p.m.. Start at the deli -2 people working 2 people cleaning - 6 people in line - hey here's a clue - cleaning can wait while customers are being taken care of! Neither coffee grinder works - Told 2 different people - no help after 5 minutes - must not matter to them. Get in line remind cashier 3 times that I have coupons go to hand them to her only to see that she has already processed my credit card. She is trying to stop it - I have to tell her the only way to stop it is to void the order and as there are 3 people behind me and only a few cashiers open all with lines I tell her I will go stand at the service desk - are you sire? Do I have a choice? 5 minutes in line at service desk then tells me she has to go through my bags! Seriously I spent 215.00 and gave you the receipt - no find them on the receipt if you must but you are not unpacking my groceries. And hey you two managers chatting away - how about we open a register instead??? Shelves not stocked on almost every aisle. (this includes Wegmans brands.) I am very disappointed with this store. I have shopped here since the day it opened and it has NEVER been this bad. Please someone step in and rescue this store! After the last few weeks this store does not deserve to have the #1 flags flying! Last week a manager(?) walking to each department stating - Our objective is not to be screamed at today! Really??? in front of customers??? You did this in the deli area and the produce area - I avoided the areas I saw you in after that - shameful...
