A Hidden Gem for Authentic Mexican Cuisine in Dobbs Ferry

I recently discovered Los Ferchos Deli & Grocery at 90 Main Street in Dobbs Ferry, and it has quickly become my go-to spot for authentic Mexican food. This family-run place, operated by Fernando and Priscila Mendoza, offers a wide variety of Latin dishes and products — and everything is made fresh to order with care.

As a vegan, I was especially impressed by how accommodating they were. I ordered a vegan burrito with no cheese, and it wasn’t just the typical beans and rice combo. It was loaded with fresh, flavorful vegetables, lettuce, tomato, and more — a full, satisfying meal that didn’t feel like an afterthought. You can tell they take pride in every dish they make.

I was missing Gallo Deli (previously on Ashford) and trying to find a replacement, and found out about this great little hideaway. I've been getting tacos or mixed lunch platters with rice+beans for the past few weeks. As I write this, I'm resisting the urge to go out and grab some 9:15 pm tacos, since I have every intention of getting lunch here tomorrow. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they have breakfast options, which I would love.

Update: I've had delicious chorizo breakfast burritos a few times since the initial review, and I'm looking forward to some huevos rancheros or chilaquiles sometime soon. For lunch, I highly recommend...
