McDonald's — Restaurant in Town of Hancock

Stopped here on our way to Canada tonight (needed some iced coffee and restroom break). They were very busy! As I was waiting for our iced coffees the very nice gentleman working at 9pm on Friday 8/30 made a kids night (at least in my POV). The family didn’t speak English and the gentleman went above and beyond to understand what the dad was saying. They eventually understood each other, the son was asking for a specific toy in the kids meal so the gentleman went to grab the toy the kid wanted and handed it to him. As he was giving the little boy the toy he wanted he told him to just keep the other toy too. I can’t begin to tell you the gigantic smile on this kids face. Other customers saw this too and I thought the tall gentleman working tonight should be praised for this or at least recognized. This place was packed and he managed it very well with no attitude (because yes of course he had some rude customers asking why it was taking so long)! Please don’t give him any crap for giving a kid another toy, we need more people like him, it truly makes a difference in even a young child’s life. The experience was awful. When they forgot to give us our cups we asked for them and got ignored. By the time we got our cups our fries were cold. The janitor was very pleasant however and tried making our experience better. Most of the staff is very gloomy. The experience was very depressing. The management seemed very unprofessional. Multiple employees were wearing baggy hoodies which raises some safety concerns in my opinion. There was another time we got table service and they didn't bring it to us, they instead screamed my name. We went up to the counter to get our food and when we came back my phone was gone and we had to go up to the counter again to get my phone and when we got back our food was cold again. Adding onto health concerns, one time I was walking to the soda machine and there was a burger on the floor with flies on it that looks like it had been left there for hours. This McDonald's needs a serious attitude change and start hiring employees that won't make customers feel unwelcome...

Stopped here today (Sunday) traveling from CT to Syracuse. Big mistake. Burger tasted like it was (over)cooked a day earlier and warmed up. The chicken on my son's sandwich-same. I gave up after 2 bites and spoke with the girl at the counter who was very nice. I explained what was going on and she was kind enough to replace my sandwich with a cheeseburger. I asked that it have no pickles. Few minutes later she confirmed no pickles I said yes. She gave me the sandwich. It was the same craptastic burger as before (day old quality) plus it had pickles. Worst McDonald's experience in my life. That's saying a lot. Guy in back making the sandwich couldn't give a damn less. Saw his exchange with the girl then him giving her my cheeseburger. Bad day? Maybe. We're all due. I don't eat at McDonald's as of late and I sure won't now.

Avoid this place and get something from the gas station then get back on the road like...
