La Cascada — Restaurant in Town of Haverstraw

In the mood for ceviche Ecuadorian style. Made with citrus juices, onions, cilantro, and choice of protein. Yummy!!... anyway, went to La Cascada (the waterfall) the place has been renovated, and upgraded more so in the outside. Plenty of tables, small bar, nothing fancy. They offer all types of seafood, and authentic, traditional dishes LOTS OF OPTIONS. Beers, juices, cocktails. I rate my experience a 4.5. The place was busy, and that didn't deter the servers from being attentive, professional, and courteous, excellent job. The experience started with a complementary serving of a salad accompanied with tender, delicious pork which has a pernil (roast pork) taste. Ordered a blackberry juice, and the fish Ceviche which would be a large enough serving as the main plate, however, that was my app. AHH caldo de res (beef soup) caught my attention as the main dish. Hearty full of vegetables, sliced corn, yuca (cassava), potatoe, and a few nice pieces of beef shank with the bone, delicious, and added the house hot sauce not overbearing. It was accompanied with plantain chips, and white rice. We also ordered the steak, and onions with rice and a small serving of red beans. The beans were bland, had no taste, and were hard. They offer a few dessert items. We ordered a cheesecake to go, and upon arrival it was smothered with whipped cream, and a cherry. It was ok, nothing to brag about. But i will brag about the service. It was excellent. They made the experience extremely pleasant, and I'll comeback again. Check your bill as the tip is already included...

I have been leaving in haverstraw the last 9 years and always go to this restaurant to eat because the food is very delicious, but the last time i went it was very uncomfortable for me because i decided to order something different and go for the camaron al ajillo, but the plate came out with only 4 little pieces of shrimps and the sauce with rice, i was very confused and asked the waitress, who knows me for a very long time, but she was so rude saying that thats the way the plate came, i asked her very nicely to ask in the kitchen, is was "NO" only came this amount, LIKE COME ON IAM.PAYING $18 DOLLARS ONLY FOR 4 LITTLE SHRIMPS. IS RIDICULOUS. BAD SERVICE FROM...

5 star food!...5 star service!...Family friendly!... The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars overall is because I liked the old decor better. The old decor was more comfy feeling and not so intensly lit up. The new post renovation decor is fresh looking, but the intense bright lights make it feel a little like a cafeteria. Also the plug in air fresheners are a little overpowering and Lemon scent is great, but it just reminds you of being in the restroom. Other than that I will definitely...
