Pantano's Pizzeria & Deli — Restaurant in Town of Haverstraw

Ordered takeout. One cheese pizza, one pepper & onion pie. Meatball hero as well.

The meatball hero was revolting. The bread was mushy and wet, and crumbled like sand as soon as you touched it. The meatballs must have been filled with manure or some other substance, because they were definitely NOT meat!

The pizza had absolutely no flavor whatsoever, and no sauce. It was stiff and had texture similar to rubber, and the cheese was like plastic.

Left the entire family disappointed and craving some real pizza. It's especially worse that we live in New York, and that our community is heavily Italian in Rockland. Will never...

I don't think I could say enough good things about this place!! The owners are kind and incredibly welcoming. We frequent Pantanos anywhere between 2-3 days a week. Sometimes my son and daughter want to go down just to say "Hi" and grab some ice pops. The pizza is inexpensive but full of quality ingredients, the subs are stuffed with deliciousness and the hot bar is amazing. Pizza was good, but the establishment wasn't very hospitable.

We asked for some parmesan cheese for our slices, and he threatened to charge us if we ask for more, and said it costs $800 for a wheel.

I have never heard of a pizzeria charging their paying customers for parmesan. Usually they leave a dispensar out on the tables for customers to use at their discretion.

Overall I would say the experience was awkward and uncomfortable; and that's a shame because their pizza is actually...
