Once again, Touch Of Italy in Baldwin knocked uh out of the park! Had my favourite chica Anna on this evening and all was well with the world for I knew I was in the best hands!
The appetiser choice of the evening was crispy, battered & fried calamari served with a spicy (tailored to my desired heat index) Fra Diavolo/ Ariabiatta sauce. Haven’t had this in a while and tonight it did everything to dazzle my palate! The calamari was crispy, perfectly seasoned, hot, well plated and purely delicious! It did not disappear!
Ordered the homemade lasagna and it was yo die for. Bubbly. Melting cheese, perfectly cooked noodles, superbly layered with meat & ricotta perfection! A truly excellent selection this was.
My other entré to sample was my all time favourite, broiled salmon with tons of garlic over a bed of spinach. The salmon was perfectly cooked and still very tender (no dry, husky spots!), the garlic some crispy, some tender lending to pure deliciousness permeating the salmon. The spinach was perfectly cooked and bright green, (not muddy or over cooked ).
The side accompanying this delicious feast was whole wheat spaghetti tossed with garlic and olive oil. The pasta was cooked perfectly aldenté, the garlic was toasted, tender & nutty, the olive oil thick & luscious. This in one of my favourite sides and beverages fails to satisfy my cravings.
Once again, Touch Of Italy located in Baldwin, NY continues to be one of my local favourite joints. The meals are freshly prepared, well presented & plated, plus the staff is super friendly & professional. The servings are generous & the joint is even wheel chair accessible! The ambiance is old world charm mixed with modern. Do ask for my fave girl Anna and she’ll certainly do right by you! I’ve never had a bad meal yet!

Read moreThe Hispanic woman, Rena, ABSOLUTE racist. I usually tip in cash and generally 22% but did things different this time. I gave 18% and tipped to the restaurant, i hope she doesn't see a dime of it. To give context, i'm a Black woman and my wife is White. When I first came in, she gave an attitude. No, hey, how are you? What can I get you? She never initially gave utensils, only 2 knives which we had to ask for a spoon and fork and was given ONLY a fork after we recieved our food. She rolls her eyes as we were ordering and slams everything from the drinks to the food as she gave the orders. I honestly was concerned that she did something to the food. She was more attentive to the White family that was sitting next to us. She only checked in once and then five minutes later, she rolled her eyes when we asked for parmesean cheese, as if we were bothering her. After I gave my card to pay she gives my wife the card back even though she saw me put my card in as if it wasn't my money. I know alot of people who live in the area and will tell everyone to avoid this place...
Read moreIt honestly pains me to have to leave such a bad review for this place that I’ve been frequenting for over 15 years. A Touch of Italy used to be a Friday staple in our household something we actually looked forward to but the food and service has tremendously gone downhill. The lasagna dinner is always undercooked or completely overcooked. Buffalo wings taste frostbitten like they’ve sat in the freezer for too long, not a fresh taste at all, And the penne alla vodka is always so dry without enough sauce. So sad how delicious this food used to be, I’m not sure if they have a new owners or new cooks but the old way is no more. Unfortunately my family and I are going to have to stop coming here. They don’t even smile and greet you they always look so unpleasant and tired. For me customer service is number one and Food is number two and I don’t get either of them here bye-bye Touch of Italy. It’s been...
