10-02-24, Wed./Up-Dated: 8-14-25, Thu.: This place is owned by Taiwanese who are VERY NICE people; yet, NOTHING AT ALL is Hawaiian here; except, their name which was just taken, from the old; prior restaurant tenant; which really has no connection to this tenant. However, as regards their Japanese dishes menu: I've tried very many dishes on their menu; very many times; &, spent many hundreds to give it all an extremely fair try; &, yet; it was all a TOTAL waste for: ABSOLUTELY AWFUL foods! NONE OF THEIR FOODS HERE; yes, NOTHING tasted good to me: the ramen; udon; miso soup; rice balls; tempura; beef bowls; gyoza; spring rolls; white rice; chicken-dishes; bentos; ETC., Etc.; etc.; were ALL TERRIBLE-! Prices are not cheap; delivery takes an extremely long time; they nicely do their own deliveries; but: their delivery guy is highly rude; the owners foolishly; &, falsely think that their food is great; as do apparently, enough customers to stay in business. There are plenty of good & bad eateries of all types; this is no uncommon exception in that way; but, also importantly --ALL of their foods do NOT TASTE ANYTHING AT ALL, LIKE: TYPICAL JAPANESE FOOD TASTES-!! Now, I have ZERO further interest in every item that they make here; which are NOT for me! Bubble Teas too sweet; miso too salty; udon no flavor; ramen tastes weird & off; spring rolls flat; stale; odd; rice balls weird; strange; funny; Is this bizarre-? No; these are Taiwanese/Chinese interpretations of: Japanese food; Thai food; &, Chinese food. The owners are worth supporting only if you like these tastes. For me, having given them a huge number of chances; I know I don't like at all; anything at all here; &, will not be ordering from here anymore! They do have a great menu; which holds great potential, so; maybe someday, someone with a TOTALLY different way of running this place; will make the complete turn-around changes to convert this place from a failed spot of just more junk; to something of real quality; because this place; in my opinions; severely needs help!

Read moreI tried Aloha Kitchen for lunch. It was an overall good meal. Unfortunately, the place didn't blow my socks off. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen which is ramen with pork bone broth, braised pork belly, bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, scallions and an egg. Its was ok. I was expecting more from the dish. The egg was just hard boiled which I didn't think was very authentic. It seemed a little lazy to me. They didn't give me a lot of pork either so i was a little disappointed. I also ordered the pork dumplings. Those I couldn't really complain about. You can't really mess up pork dumplings especially when it looked like they outsourced the dumpling. It looked like the guy pulled the dumplings out of a plastic bag already made and fried them of the stove. Maybe they make them in house and then bag them but it just seemed sketchy to me. Either way its not a bad spot but its not a great...
