Bagel Dock — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

As the only black person with my family walking into bagel dock this morning I was extremely offended and annoyed, I was in a long line and when we, me my fiance and my daughter got up to the front to order the lady which qas caucasian completely ignored us....she was on the phone for a long period of time and was telling other people to hold on the other line, she did that about 3 times while taking an order over the phone which was a very hefty order; while we were still waiting on her to assist us, she answered the other calls and took there order as well. I looked up at my fiance in shock! After she took all the orders on the phone she walked away and told us to give her a minute as she proceeded over to where they made the sandwiches where she took three bagels in her hand, she then came back to the front where we were still standing waiting to place our orders and still she turned away and went to take down another 3 to 4 bagels where she began slicing them up and preparing them for other people. While she did that the male and female workers of whom seemed to be hispanic went around us and decided to begin taking all the other people's orders behind us, I'm sure by now you must know I was a little angered and very disturbed by this, even a little disappointed because I don't really go out to eat bagel and I chose bagel dock to visit this morning. Even after a lady told them they skipped us they totally ignored it. I was going to say " we would still like to place an order" but after what I saw I was completely is disarray so I decided to walk away while the lady was still cutting up bagels and ignoring us, and my family walked out behind me. When we went in the car my fiance decided to go back in to ask the gentlman what happened why they skipped us and he replied " that the lady who was taking the calls and who was supposed to take our orders told him we ordered already which was a complete lie. Thanks to bagel dock I don't think another bagel store will ever see me again. They completely changed my thought on unity...

Lady taking the order was rude after she made a mistake . I had to drive back after picking up my order. I ordered for a full family and a mistake is understandable. I asked for 2 over easy eggs with buttered toast and bacon well done, no home fries. I received a sandwich instead of the platter I was expecting. I called a different woman answered the phone and was extremely nice and said they would have it ready for me as soon as I got there. Today is Father's Day I had come in with my kids and was a good ten minutes away heading to a family appointment which I was now late for. When I got back I brought the sandwich in. The lady that took my order came over and attempted to make me give her more money. I originally paid with my debit card and had no cash on me, wallet on the dash in the car. I asked her to just give me the money back. I was agitated that I had to turn around but understand that people make mistakes,I was a more agitated now that she was being rude . Instead of giving me the money she made me wait there while she walked to the other side of the Deli to tell the cook not to make the food . There were many other employees but she chose to punish me by making me stand there and wait and make me later before she came back over and gave me the money. The place has good food if you want good food go there. It will go there and spend my money. All of the other employees were very respectful and doing an amazing job. Great LOCATION , LARGE PARKING LOT, SUMMER DECK with table and chairs, and of course FRESH DELICIOUS BAGELS. They just don't make fresh bagels they also create other delicious dishes, inset large menu. The service is simple, you order then take a seat, they bring the food to you and you pay later, just don't forget to pay..LOL. No tips for a waiter or waitress. Good amount of tables with chairs inside. Tables and chairs on their deck for summer eating outside. FREE PARKING on the premises there is so much room I have seen even a large school bus parked comfortably. The town workers service this establishment so don't come during lunch time only if you're looking for a seat. You may or may not find one. I came early for breakfast. $9.22 I had a medium coffee (not sure about one free refill) but there at least should be one of anything? An everything bagel Bacon Egg and cheese with catsup. I noticed they don't give out a receipt of purchase, which makes me wonder about tax time. I don't think they offer any patron bathrooms but don't quote me on that, I didn't ask. All in all a definite must PIT STOP if you're passing through the area.
