Closest to "NYC" bagels I have come om LI. Most long Island bagels are "rolls with holes". Big doughy blobs of bread with zero texture on the exterior and seem to be made for senior citizens with dentures they are so soft.

These bagels at Santa Fe have a very nice shine on top with some bark and a crusty almost crunchy bottom. Bagels are supposed to have texture. Large holes create more exterior.

Also the scallion cream cheese has lots of nice fresh crunchy scallions and...

It is clean in here so I appreciate that. The staff is barely friendly. And the bagels are okay taste-wise. They have a decent selection of bagels but not that abundant. The refrigerated drink selection is good. Parking could be a little bit congested but there is definitely a flow in the parking lot. It's hard to come by delicious Long Island...

10/10 food & service, albert was very friendly, since we told him we were out of town, he explained the menu to us and gave us recommendations on popular menu options. Even my picky eater girlfriend ate her food and it was her first time trying bagels, when we were done eating he gave us bagels to take home for free, best bagels in the city...
