Bellmore ll Cleaners and Alterations are angels!!! They helped us in a desperate emergency and did a beautiful job fixing someone else's mistake last minute before a wedding. My daughter brought her bridesmaid dress to our local dry cleaner for alteration a month before the wedding she was to be in. When she picked it up two weeks later it was still way to big. She brought it back that same day for more alterations. She was told it would be ready 2 days before the wedding. On the day is was to be ready, they told her that the seamstress had an emergency so the dress wasn't ready. ( why did they wait until the day it was due to work on it when they had it 2 weeks already?!!!) They said to come back the next day after 5 pm. (The day before the wedding!) She picked it up and it was completely too small, she couldn't lift her arms at all. They told us the seamstress left for the day and that was "a shame". No apology. We asked if he could reach the seamstress to fix it before the next morning as an emergency, when she had to be at the brides house to get ready. He said no and didn't even try to call her or try to offer some solution to the problem. We left panicked and distressed. I looked on East Meadow Moms to see if anyone knew of any tailors that may work late. I saw a post about Bellmore II (similar in kind to our story). We called and they said bring it over so we can take a look. They told us what needed to be done and said they would stay late to work on it and have it for us early the next day. I have been using Bellmore Dry Cleaners for at least 5 years and have nothing but good things to say about them. Everytime I drop off or pickup my cleaning they are so friendly and I always have very nice conversations with them. I have never had any problems with my dry cleaning and they are always ready when I come for pick-up. They have even gone out of their way when my daughter was getting married last June. Her husband to be need alterations on his wedding suit the day before their wedding. We brought it into Bellmore Dry Cleaners and it was ready the next morning and was perfect. I feel so confident in their work that I suggested to my daughter to have her wedding gown preserved by them, which she did and they gave a nice discount, due to me being a loyal customer. I had a bridesmaid and flower girl dress altered here. I asked for the flower girl dress to be even all around except for the train. The layer right under the train was left uneven and the lady insisted that's how it was supposed to be even after I originally asked for it to be hemmed so my daughter doesn't trip. My bridesmaid dress was completely ruined. The straps were made too short and it lifted up the dress in the back. The whole look was changed and it was not for the better. Lastly, I was told the dresses don't get steamed or pressed because that's a separate charge. For all the money spent the least they could of did was steam the dresses!! I will never be...
