Meadow Deli in East Meadow had been a long time staple of the village for years. The original was family owned and beloved in the community. Unfortunately, the current owners are a tragic step down. I was very surprised entering the deli and finding it quiet and empty. In its heyday, the deli always had patrons any time of day. Today, I asked for an olive loaf and meunster cheese on white sandwich. It indicated on the board that the price was 5.99, but at the register I was charged 7.00 for it. Read moreThe guys are nice, friendly and service is good... but, if you're running in for a grocery item, be sure to check the dates... there have been numerous occasions that I've had to alert them that something I was going to get was expired. It's stuff I'd ideally get at grocery store, but on a rare occasion that I was running in for something like ketchup, mayo, or even bread 'cuz I needed in a pinch, it's turned out to be less convenient than I'd hoped due to expiration.
