Update: I went back to this place to give them one more opportunity to be my it place. This is a bakery so I expected to see bread …maybe some kind of loaf bread (baguette Italian ?). There is no bread the owner says they only served sweets. Cookies and select pastries. Ok I select elephant ears a pastry with pineapple marmalade and a cookie. Stale stale stale. I dug I to that pstrie looking for the pineapple and it was the size of a quarter. I’m not kidding. It really made me sad for the owner because I can’t imagine owning a cute business like this and serving this type of product. I’m hoping this small business gets the boost they need to make improvements because we need cute bakery here in Baldwin. First of all this place is supposed to open at 11 am. It’s noon and I walk up to this place with an open sign and tried to open the door. It’s locked. I see the woman inside the shop chatting with someone in the background and she is putting bread away and completely ignoring my dumbfounded expression. I’m standing outside scratching my head because she sees me outside and is completely ignoring me. The store says open and the door is locked. My husband gets out of the car and tried to open the shop door as confused as I am. The woman comes out and tells him the shop opens in 5 minutes. Why don’t you put a sign on the door saying closed for lunch reopen at 12:15? Why do you just lock your doors and leave your customers outside baking...
Read moreI stopped by there because I would always drive by the area and the location would always catch my attention. Well yesterday I finally went in to buy my husband a birthday cake , the location looks so nice, even the cakes looked soo good in the case. So I bought tres leche cake that had sprinkles and chocolate dripping .it was a good mid size cake , well I’m home singing happy birthday and when I cut into the cake and served the slices around. ( it was already looking funny when I sliced into it , it was too dry to be tres leche but you could still see a little bit of moisture) I still gave it a chance. Once I took a bite it tasted funny and smelled funny. And All my guest immediately spitted the cake back out because it tasted old and it was probably started to go bad, there is no one way this cake was fresh. I was disappointed that they offered me a cake that was not fresh. I felt so embarrassed because I had guests and family eating bad cake I immediately told everyone to throw it out. My husband was disappointed because all the kids wanted cake. I guess I should’ve stick to the...
Read moreI just noticed this place, which is a companion business to the family bakery across the street from it. I got the Chicken Fajitas. It was well seasoned and everything tasted good. I dinged it by 1 Star because the Chicken Fajita Strips were a little hard, and was probably due to the fact that it's white meat, and can be easily overcooked. I would suggest they use the leg/thigh cuts of meat since they don't dry out as fast when they're cooked. I plan to try their breakfast offerings and other entrees soon and will update my review. I would definitely recommend this place.
Here's my review of the Bakery: 4 out of 5 Stars I got their Tres Leches, very delicious and properly sweet, but not overly. Also got some of their Tea/Coffee Biscuits and they are very delicious and goes well with Coffee/Tea/Milk. I dinged the bakery by 1 Star because I would like to see they use more natural colorings in their cookies, and not usual suspect FD&C Red-Yellow-Blue, etc. I don't mind paying extra to avoid...
