This place is horrible not only was service horrible, we waited over 45 minutes for our entree to come out. First let me get started we sat down five of us at the bar and were asked if we wanted drinks . Ok got drinks and were ignored for about 15 minutes until I asked can we order. We order our food and meanwhile two other couples were seated and sat at the bar after us ordered their food and their app. And entrees came out way before ours . Obviously if you are related or know the bartenders you get special treatment . So we are sitting waiting and notice some food orders coming out that we didn’t see on the menu. Oh we were never given the specials menu for the evening . Nice . Finally almost 45 minutes later one of the couples that came in after us were served, ate, got their check and were gone before our food arrived . Ordered the halibut on the regular menu not sure what I got but it was a piece of dried out 1/4 “ thin of fish that was so over cooked . I’m not sure it was fresh. It tasted like a frozen piece of fish . The seasoning was horrible all I tasted was salt. My son had the veal picatta tasted like “catering food at a communion party” from years ago horrible. So overall sorry to say will never go back...
Read moreI have been to Gio's like 5 times now. For so long, I wanted to find a high quality, high end Italian place in my local area... with no luck. Until now! All the Italian places on Long Island are basically the same - some not bad but they are all boring and sometimes really lack in quality unfortunately. But Gio's is different - a large step above the rest. Gio's strikes me as a spot you'd find in Brooklyn or Manhattan - it's very cosmopolitan and chic, and the food is out of this world. Very high quality, fresh ingredients are used, and the food preparation is always on point. This place deserves it's flowers. I will now be a regular at Gio's! Some of my favorite dishes are: stuffed mushrooms, veal or sole margherita, chicken francese, and the absolute best - their homemade pasta (paccheri). They have many different preparations of pasta, I like amatriciana or broccoli rabe w sausage. But whatever way you like your pasta, you NEED to try their homemade paccheri. Probably one of the best pastas I ever had. Perfectly chewy and firm, al dente. Perfect texture. Fresh taste. Unreal preparation. Get...
Read moreJust wanted to take a minute to write a review for my first experience with Gio's. I was in search of a restaurant that would accommodate a large reservation (20-25 people) and was having trouble finding a place. My friend recommended Gios. From the minute I called they were so incredibly kind and accommodating. They followed up with confirmations consistently which, as a mom, was much appreciated. When we arrived the staff was wonderful. I had mistakenly counted my final headcount and they were so willing to help me I was extremely appreciative. They put us all at one table!
The server (I cannot remember his name, he had glasses) was on top of it! He was fantastic. As a former waitress myself, i know how difficult a large party can be. He always made sure everyone had a drink and every order was timely and correct. We were so impressed. I want to thank everyone in the kitchen who took on such a large party ordering full menu!!! The food was amazing and everyone was complimenting the restaurant choice. We will definitely be back to Gio's! Thank...
