Kreyol Taste Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I have enjoyed food from Kreyol Taste for a long time now and I have come in looking all SORTS of ways— as of recent, I’ve noticed how nasty the young women get with me when I look like I have some place to be (and care 🙈).

I stopped in yesterday, on the 4th, yes— I greeted everyone with a warm smile and hello, one young woman came to serve me while two other women sat behind the counter. The young woman serving and another young woman, who was sat to the left, look at me and proceed to spark up and have their own conversation throughout my attempts to start and complete my order. It was absolutely done on purpose. I was being looked at like “Hurry up and order” but each time I opened my mouth they started talking over me and I allowed it to happen twice before I visibly became annoyed.

I want to note, two older men and a young boy came in after me and as I was paying (let me add, that THAT process was a doozy all on it’s own too, she couldn’t be bothered to take my order, tell me what the cost was loud enough for me to hear it so I ended up shorting her, let alone take the payment from me) I watched as their service was WORLDS better than mine.

These people are scammers! My husband went to the restaurant for the first time and ordered 2 large chicken. Instead they give him 2 small chicken and charged for the large prices, hoping he wouldn’t notice.I was upset that they cheated him so we went to the restaurant together. Right away the ladies looked guilty with no remorse for what they did. I explained what happened with my husband and they lied and said he mentioned small chicken. Even if he did say that, why would you charge him for large prices then? The ladies started whispering amongst each other and kept giving us nasty stares. After 5 min, they handed me my money and took back the food. No apologies at all. They were just mad because they got caught! Even they did this to him, who else have they’ve been...

Usually I like this place and I hate to leave a not so great review but a bit disappointed today. Usually my go-to for fried fish and I drove quite a bit to pick it up after calling and confirming they had some. Only to encounter rude customer service and no fried fish available.

Additionally, since we drove far we decided to purchase patê cordée - 2 of them and a drink came out to $12 , I mean I don’t mind paying for it but there was a large bone in the patties. Disappointed is...
