One of those extremely hot and hazy days in July, i decided to look for a place close to water. Most places don't have as good a review as the Lazy Lobster. I wanted to see what the fuss is all about. I did read about possible not liking Black people (yelper) and I can see what may come from it. The young female cashier from the Lobster stand had that air of not liking Black people, I can see that. Then again, I head over to Chelsea the bartender and it disappears. Chelsea is a bottle of perkiness and sweet. Not a bad bone in her body and an attentive bartender who listens to everyone's taste. The young guy who came later to help her also a warm spirited guy. Too bad Paul did not address Jessica's concern immediately, but he did promise to address the situation. Hopefully he will.. Maybe he was trying to not play along those lines, because it gets really blurry. Getting back to the young cashier, maybe because it was 97 degrees in the shade and she is in a hot place could be her "not welcoming" attitude? Paul should address her attitude, which is not good for business. One of the young looking cooks who interrupted nicely was the opposite. He was a nice guy looking forward to 9pm to close down from the heat and having a nice cold beer. Amen bro!! I hope you had one because you certainly deserved it!!!
Getting to the lobster roll, i ordered the angry lobster (spicy is the key) which was fresh and the bread was crispy. A very nice combination. The lines can get long and that is due to the quality of the products they make. The fries that came with it were crispy and flavorful. I wanted to try fish tacos however i was focusing more on the liquid aspect of the place than the solid, if you know what I mean...maybe next time.
The band was continually playing and entertaining everyone. it really is a nice place to go in the summer. As i said, i found the staff to be mostly friendly, and young. They were dedicated to having the patrons items delivered and the tables cleaned. If more people know about this place, i bet there will be an explosion of visitors! it is a fun...
Read moreWe went on a Wednesday, there happened to be a "wild Wednesday" that had $25 lobster rolls and $10 frozen drink specials.
The traditional lobster rolls never disappoint. Not too much mayo and plenty of fresh lobster.
I tried the angry lobster roll which is spiced up with Sriracha mayo. It was good! I also tried the new Bayou roll which is Cajun spicy and has hot honey added. It was surprisingly very good. I prefer the angry roll and my friends liked the bayou better.
Fries were good. Tater sauce is different and in a good way. Seems homemade and definitely not mass-produced stuff.
You would think it was a Saturday afternoon by the crowd and not a weekday lunch.
Parking can be difficult but there's plenty of street parking within a block radius. Although, not sure how easy it will be to find parking close by on a weekend.
This is my second time coming here in a few years and it's still a solid place, many new upgrades (bar) and the staff is friendly.
The service is good too. You order at the counter, they give you a number to put on the table and your food is brought to you. Drinks are through the bar. They bus the table but you also pick up after yourselves so it's an interesting and functional cross between self serve and sit down.
The place is very clean!
Will go again every...
Read moreIt’s not the first time I come to the Lazy Lobster I lived close by for a while. But as of lately the service seems to have gone down. I’m getting ugly stares for coming back today because my order was messed up. I understand these things happen, having worked in the service industry myself. But it was uncalled for when I point out I paid for something and it wasn’t included in my order. So when I was approached by more servers for the same problem saying it was going to get handled even though it was asked. I feel like there needs to be more professionalism when it comes to the servers/ takeout changing their “friendly” service face when approached with a mistake from their cooks. I responded to their face making as so: Respectfully I think you guys would be upset as well if your food didn’t come out the way you had ordered it, as well. They all agreed. The fact that I have to feel like I have to defend myself for something as simple as that, it made me feel very weary of coming back despite the food being good. I know that these kids don’t have respect these days and are working in hot conditions. But honestly this reaction that they had to something simple really reflects and can potentially hurt the establishment. Especially since I’m paying close to $50 dollars...
