I've been patronizing Super Pollo since the very first day they opened in East Rockaway. I love their food especially the rotisserie chicken, fried calamari, yellow rice, beans, fried yucca, and avocado salad. Sometimes the chicken can be dry but the delicious green sauce (aji verde) helps to moisten it. Which is exactly why I don't like the fact that if I dine inside I can use as much green sauce as I want but when I order to go they are very stingy and inconsistent. If I order a ¼ chicken I get 1 green sauce, if I order 2 ¼'s of chicken I get 2 green sauces but if I order a whole chicken which is 4 ¼ chicken orders I only get 2 green sauces. HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE?!!! It's basic math! 1 ¼ = 1 sauce, 4 ¼'s= 1 whole chicken should = 4 sauces but nooooo! You have to pay if you want more and the woman gives you the stink eye and an attitude if you try to explain how it makes no sense. The owner at the L.B. location even admits that it makes no sense but still no matter how many times I bring it up they refuse to change their stance. When I picked up my order last night and tried to reason once again, the curmudgeon woman at the register said, only 2 or you have to pay for more ... then to my surprise she turned and squirted some green sauce into a 3rd container and put it in the bag. I thanked her but when I got home and opened it up I couldn't believe what a ridiculous amount she gave me. WHAT MAKES A PERSON SO MISERABLE...

I usually order on phone for take out and the food is great. Lomo saltado is my fav dish so I've pretty much tried it everywhere and this one is pretty much on my top 5. The place is a small kind of whole in the wall, with typical decor but it can accomodate a party I presume because they have a whole other side to restaurant that is usually unused when I go but have seen it set up for parties. My husband fav app is Ceviche Mixto where he will try everywhere and anywhere and he is quite fond of this one, even though its very different then a typical ceviche mixto it is great! Must try. Pricing is average on higher side for Peruvian food but...
Read moreThis restaurant offers good, authentic tasting Peruvian food with quick and efficient service (for take away). The pollo a la brasa has a flavorful baste and the salsa criollo they have is excellent. My only issue was with the pricing - I was overcharged for my meal and only realized this when back home (yes, my mistake). Factoring the items + sales tax the overcharge was around 9%. I did add in a tip to the erroneous amount for the server who rang up my order. She was given the amount from the hostess who relayed the total to her verbally, so there was no breakdown of the price available. Still, the meal was a good one and I am sure the pricing issue was not...
