Maya Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I’ve been here a few times but the customer service is steadily declining. I order pickup on Uber eats here often and almost every time there’s a disagreement on whether their nachos on the app come with a side of cheese along with the chips. Their description on the app literally says “smothered in melted cheese” but 9/10 times they argue with me on it until I show them their own description. Besides that, the worker who was working on my bowl that day had a bad attitude from the start because I asked her for the newer rice from the back since she was giving me the bottom of the barrel rice. She came back and gave me the smallest proportions I’ve ever received from here. At the end of it all I had had to ask for a bag for my two bowls, chips, and queso as if they wanted me to carry it out and be done with me. As a loyal patron of a relatively new establishment, one would reasonably expect a measure of courtesy and professionalism. Instead they're beginning to exude an air of entitlement, as though the customers are an inconvenience rather than the reason for...

The customized bowls are perfect for people who frequent the gym, men and growing boys … that’s how much food they serve ! 😂 It’s also perfect for people like me who like to eat now and save some for later. I love me a 2 for 1 meal makes it even more worth it.

The beef & chicken Birria Tacos were good and so tender! I love when steak is not tough in 🌮’s The crispy cheese edges topped it off along with that nice a simple mango sauce purée 👌🏽

Right before we left out the door we tried the Dulce de Leche tres Leches & it did not disappoint. I prefer a Dominican cake for this type of cake but overall the flavors were spot on. Of course we had to close out with the best @jarritos...

Stopped by here for lunch on a Sunday and ordered a steak bowl with Mexican rice, fajita veggies, black beans, corn, sour cream, guacamole, cheese, and chipotle sauce. They are soooo generous with their portions!! The bowl was delicious and definitely more than enough to share. I thought the steak was going to be dry but it was tender and flavorful! From proteins to toppings, there were so many options. All the toppings looked fresh. I also tried out their limeade and tres leches cake slice. I’m such a huge fan of tres leches - this one was good.

The service was quick and the staff here were really nice. It’s a pretty spacious space for you to dine in as well. I need to stop by again to try their tacos and jerk...
