I had the most uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience here than I have at any other bar. I came with some of my co-workers after work to unwind and relax. A girl named Alyssa was my bartender and she was extremely rude and judgemental. She quickly ran through the happy hour list and a few of us were confused because she did it so fast. So I asked her to slowly run through that again and she looked at me like I was an idiot and and literally told me that I should pay attention better. We all looked at each other and started laughing because we just figured she was kidding. But as the time progressed she just kept making rude remarks towards me and literally kept inserting herself in our conversations without an invitation that it started to annoy us. I told her how rude she was and that I don’t really like the way she is talking to me and she replied “I don’t care”, which baffled me. Then we decided to play some music on the juke box and before we could even put the dollar in she said to us, “make sure you guys don’t play any bad music because this is a family establishment”, which is kind of insulting being that some of us are Black so she was basically assuming that the music we were going to play was going to be unruly and unfit for the environment, we were just going to play Bruno mars btw. After we played the music she went behind some wall and “coincidently” the music got lower. Then when our music finished and went back to the music that was “acceptable” the volume magically went back up again after she disappeared behind the wall. A few of us noticed this and decided to test it two more times. And literally no matter what we played, even country music which was playing before we got there, she reduced the volume after going behind the wall. So we all decided to ask her why she kept turning down the music because we knew she was doing it on purpose, she literally started tripping over her own words instantly because she didn’t expect to be confronted about it. Then she said sorry and turned the music back up but by that time we were fed up and asked for the check to leave. I’m not speaking on the character of the establishment or the other workers in any way. But from that experience and knowing that she is an employee there I will never come back because I felt like she was being so prejudice. No one should ever feel the way that we felt in a bar that should be a place of comfort and relaxation. Alyssa you really disgusted us you should not be a bartender at all if you do not know how to talk to people or...
Read moreThis place has a huge positive vibe. Yes, there is alot of testerone, bit if you come here with friends, or you meet people at the bar, you will certainly be upbeat. The place is a comfort food place. Burgers, fries, tater tots, chicken, cheese, all the ingredients to make you full and happy while you are downing a pint of beer! The parking lot can hold about 20 to 25 cars, and it is next to LIRR tracks for added parking in the area. The place is huge to say the least. Once you wallk past the outdoor drinking area, a door opens up and there are 3 genfer neurral bathrooms on the left before you come up to the hosts podium. The host greeted us with such a friendly smile, you felt instantly welcomed. As you walk in, the long bar on the left has enough room to be at least 6 to 7 people deep from the bar. They have brews for all tastes. The wait staff will gladly offer a sample of the draft beers they have. They also have an extensive bottle and can list. They even have 3 types of ciders to try: 1 draft and 2 in the cans.you can find a high table to the right or continue straight to a slightly lower vllume of excited shouts when you see the patrons watching the several tv screens of football on a Sunday evening. Unfortunately, they ran out of tacos and 1 of the ciders my friend ordered, but we made do. I wanted to order the BEC sliders; bacon egg and cheese, but looked at the double fried mac and cheese. For me it was ok, but definitely a novelty to try. Also shared a grilled chicken sandwich that i picked tater tots along with it. The tater tots were awesome. Finally my server Alexis, convinced to order the bread pudding....OMG, i thinknthis is the BEST bread pudding i ever had. It almost tasted like a delicious apple strudel withvanilla ice cream and whipped cream. I immediately texted my cuz whos is a football and pub fan, and he is yelling at me to take him there at the earliest opportunity. Need to try sone of the other interesting options on the menu, so i will definitely visit this place many...
