Spice & Curry Kabab & Grill — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I was in search for a true Pakistan restaurant since years. There's one I found in NJ, but that is too far from my home.

Spice and curry is close to my home. Mere 10 minutes of drive. This restaurant has restored my faith in desi food to the fullest. Almost anything I have tried from their menu turned out to be mouthwatering entree.

FOOD 5/5: Their channa masala is on the top of the list. The aroma presented in channa is very hard to find elsewhere. Furthermore, for the brakfast, the omelet consists of thin layer, requiring intense attention in preparation. Lamb chops are out of this world. Ginger chicken is a must have, so is the Karahi chicken. Last, if you are not really a dessert person, BE NOW.... cause you CANNOT miss their kheer (rice pudding).

ATMOSPHERE 4/5: Reasonable, relaxed, definitely welcoming. Bathroom could be bit cleaner. Don't let the grocery section deceive you. To me personally, food matters the most. Been to so many posh restaurants, spending hundreds, and walking out disappointed.

PATRONS 5/5: Humble staff. Smiling faces. Patience on the phone. Not rushing to take orders. Would assist customers with consistent hospitality till the last minute before closing.

PRICES 5/5: Unbelievable. I had to check my bill in first few visits to be assured that they included everything that I ordered. Compared to the quality of the meals, the prices are superb. I wouldn't mind paying extra if have to. Thus, this leave bigger room for the gratuity though.

WOULD RETURN?: Absolutely. Most likely each time with newer friends to introduce.

I was just looking for some South Asian food and went here because the other place with a similar name was not open.

We ordered chicken tikka Masala, Chana Dal, Chicken Biryani, Bhindi Masala, Naans and lassi. The food was served very quickly. They served complimentary salad. I can happily report, all the food was excellent! It tasted fresh, was served hot and was not overloaded with excess salt. I was definitely impressed. The service was excellent. The place was more like a desi deli and not a real sit-down restaurant. I don’t mind it at all. The price reflected it. I would have preferred it to be a bit cleaner looking, which would increase my confidence that the kitchen is clean and sanitary. I will definitely be going here again. And again. They did not have masala chai but their regular tea was close to it. 👌🏽

I think reviews older than 2-3 years should be automatically deleted, especially bad reviews. For all you know, the management or kitchen staff may have changed? Just saying. Google should take note and ensure that small pop and pop stores are not run into ground because of a few...

• TOP NOTCH AUTHENTIC - BEEF BIHARI KABAB * - Reminds me of Sadder, Karachi. I can bet with cofidence that this item, Beef bihari kabab, wins the 1st prize in the East and Midwest of US States. In my profession I travel a lot. Trust me this is real deal !! My God I could'nt stop eating it. I had to pull myself away from table to stop over eating. The yougurt sauce goes perfeclty with kabab and naan. Now about chicken tikka. I seriouly suggest to restaurant owners, to open a cooking school to teach how to cook authentic Karachi, Pakistani street foods. Chicken tikka wins the 1st award as well. Meat is well seasoned, juicy, tender and tasty. I ordered Channa Masala and kheer too. But ended up eating, mostly the meat items, the chana masalla is also authentic karachi taste. My congrats to Bawarchi sahib ( the cheff), for spreading your love, by cooking the items from your heart. Thank you so so much for tele-porting me to Karachi by your authentic food.
