My daughter and I found ourselves in this neck of the woods, and we luckily stumbled upon Tres Diamantes [Three Diamonds]! Our server, Darleny, was warm, welcoming and sweetly tolerated my attempts to speak in Spanish. Everyone else also appeared friendly and efficient as they catered to the other patrons; most of whom, if not all, were clearly regulars. The restaurant and bar area were airy and festive, the restrooms tidy and clean. Darleny brought us guacamole, which, interestingly and in true Salvadorian tradition, was made with hard-boiled eggs. The guac was perfectly balanced and delicious; if it was a larger serving, I could have made a meal out of it and a beer or two! We also ordered ceviche [fresh and tasty], beef stew [authentic as heck], and yummy pupusas. As others have stated, a 20% service charge was automatically added to our bill, and if paying with a credit card, an additional 3% “processing fee” will be levied.
