Wings 'n' Things — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

This place really disappointed me. With it claiming to be a place that specializes in wings, that food was NOT it and they definitely have dropped the ball here. Firstly, I will say the service was great. A bunch of young guys, teenage to young adult looking behind the counter, but they were very respectful and patient with it being my first time and having questions about the menu options.

To my surprise, literally three minutes after putting in my order of Buffalo wings and macaroni and cheese, my order was ready. Although, I did not realize until about 10 minutes after my food sitting on the counter that it was ready so soon. This was the first sign that I was about to eat some processed frozen food, because why would it be ready that soon? But anyway, I was still willing to give it a try.

The wings were not even hot (not like spicy, but temperature-wise) and the mac and cheese… disgusting. Its just macaroni in a thick, almost gelatinous-like cheese sauce. And the cheese sauce tastes bad. Sorry this place is NOT it, for a wing place. Really...

Part of the reason this is a #5Star review has nothing to do with the food and everything to do with the service. Outstanding service today. There was a lil' bit of a "faux pas" with my meal and because I know for certain it was just an oversight (they were super busy), I brought it to the attention of the the manager quietly and discreetly.

He took immediate steps to rectify it, comp'd me a drink and I think they stuffed more food on my plate. And... with heartfelt remorse, a smile and accuracy, they did it without skipping a beat. It showed & proved that #CustomerService is a core principle for them. I’ve been gone 8 years out of state and could t wait to have this food. Very upset that everything. Is so bland. Even the cornbread taste weird. Not sure why they changed the recipe. I drove to the Hempstead location to compare and it I’m desperate I will drive out of the way there. It’s sad I live walking. Distance to the Elmont location. Hempstead is slightly seasoned not like it used to be but the cornbread is the same. Why change something that...
