This is more of a 2.5 stars rather than 3 but it doesn't let you rate on a .5 scale. I've been here many times while being at RIT especially being forced to stay at park point for housing (gotta love the student housing crisis). The one really good experience I've had was my first time there with friends for a trivia night 4 years ago. That's the thing about this place though, if you're not coming with friends and aren't prepared to stay an extended period of time due to slowish service/long cook times for stuff that should be quick i.e. paninis then I don't reccomend it very much. It's a decent resturant (all be it over priced even before corona virus service increases) but the service is slow at best. I don't necessarily blame the wait staff as much because it always seems they are short staffed, especially during events. Also another note about events is the fact that if you want to show up and eat when there's an outdoor concert you need to pay even if you're not watching it. If there is indoor music on the stage in lovin cup you need to pay to get in even if you don't intend on watching it or risk getting seated outside in windy/cooler weather and have a hard time eating comfortably. A note about COVID-19 and service after the reopening. The first few weeks after opening again when corona virus restrictions were lifted me and a roommate decided to go check out the outdoor dining area they had set up. Hostess was rude and not much help. We were told to download an app to order and pre pay and were even told straight up it wouldn't scan the QR code or let us order and they've been having difficulty with the app. The app made you place in your email, phone number, and have location on just to order. We found that off-putting but decided to go ahead and try it anyways, after both of us on different phone carriers tried and tried to order hostess came over annoyed we did not place an order yet. We explained that indeed the app did not work and were told to just order inside and get take out, once food was ready we left. I haven't been back since and genuinely have been put off from returning again. I am curious to see if things are being handled better but am hesitant about going again. My "too long didn't read" take away from this review is that if you're going, go with friends for an early lunch when no live music or event is going on. If you go alone be prepared to wait on slow service feeling awkward and annoyed with wait times, and if you go during an event expect to pay and receive...

Read moreWe tried to go here last night and we’re let down yet again. We had a rough experience last year as well. They had the whole dining room closed for a show that didn’t even start until 8 pm. We came in at 5 and we’re out by 615. They could’ve very easily sat us in the dining room since no one was there when we left. The guy said our only option was a folding high top or outside which the temperature was in the 50s. I had my 7 month old and none of us were dressed to sit outside.
We were put in the room to the right of the door. The room is fine but not at all the atmosphere we were hoping for. They only had 6, maybe 7 tables in that room. Not at all enough for a busy Friday night. They brought out the folding high top to accommodate us (5 people) which was very difficult to sit at with a baby. The black table cloth on the folding table was dirty and full of holes.
They seemed very unorganized and spastic. The poor guy assisting us was running all around trying to figure things out. He had no help at all.
The food was alright but it was definitely not their best night. If they are going to do shows later at night, they should be able to sit the dining room early on or just close the restaurant all together. They could easily have Let us sit in the dining room tell us when we needed to be out by. We would’ve easily been able to abide by that time.
This was our second time going here, just to be let down again. Not sure if we’ll return. If you’re not going for the show beware on seating. Their main audience is for shows it feels and not for those who just want to...
