Pros: amazing food, nothing but the best, fresh and made from scratch. You can't beat it. The staff is accommodating and friendly plus the owner is a hands on guy who busts his butt right along side his employees. Plus free wifi and clean restrooms and the outdoor covered seating is great in nice weather
Cons: sometimes it's a long wait to get your order in and the system they use for ordering kinda makes things a little confusing unless you have been there and know the ropes. They should have like a spare ate place to order and pay then go to a different section to pick up your order so it's not so crowded in one location, where you pay, order & pick up your order is all at the same spot so that means you get 10 people standing waiting to do one of the above mentioned things then you walk in not sure if your cutting the line and have to ask everyone if they ordered yet then serpentine through the crowd just to place an order. The other issue is there hours, they are only open till 4pm weekdays and Saturday, Sunday they close at 3pm.
Closing: I would highly recommend you try this place, it's a little pricey but I will pay more for quality fresh and delicious anytime, it's truly one of the best deli's I have ever been to and it doesn't matter what you order there, it...

They close at 2 so get it in early. They're also closed Sunday and Monday. That's why you ignore everything else because if they're open and you need somewhere to eat: now you don't. Go get a sandwich or slaw/salad now.
Now to explain my most common orders (pictures added below) are the Dirty Canadian & Dirty American. Order their American or Canadian, whichever you prefer. And add bacon to it. Then you also order a separate 1/4lb of roast beef and I personally like to order a small seafood or coleslaw. Then get either mesquite BBQ chips (for Canadian) or Salt&Pepper/Salt&Vinegar chips(for American). I'm a big believer in ice tea for a side or Arnold Palmer. Now for the assembly of the sandwich, you crush up your chips. Lay them down inside the roast beef and roll it up and place inside the sandwich. You can add hot sauce if you want now.
The best part about all of this? It's just about $20 end of the day and you get enough food to eat a light dinner and pass out. I love eating here after a day...
Read moreThis place is an absolute local gem. If you're keen to engage in fantastic, traditional home cooking with the occasional menu item that is more modern, there are few places in Elka Park to go. You won't regret anything you order at Village Market. From three eggs over medium with the sausage and toast to French toast or a breakfast sandwich, you'll recognize what you ordered right there on the plate.
The prices are right and the food is perfect in every way. Added bonus, if you're just looking for a cup of coffee, this is an in and out experience or a sit-down as long as you like...
