Response to owner:
Dear Greg,
I guess Google doesn't allow me to respond directly to your response, so I edited my post, and copied my original message at the bottom. I would first like to say, thank you for responding so quickly. It took me a while to write this review because I work full time in Manhattan, and found it hard to find the time. I never claimed to have come into the store today, but I suppose the time-stamped review could imply that.
I understand that you guys have received great reviews, and this certainly could have been an irregular incident. However, we are fortunate enough in today's world to post and review when we have had negative experiences. It allows people to post in a safe environment, good or bad, in an effort to ensure positive experiences for consumers. I exercised this right knowing there is a certain responsibility of truth associated with it, which I considered very seriously. To claim, and accuse that I in anyway was obnoxious, berating employees, or was rude is a lie, and a denial of the responsibility you have as an owner. I wouldn't say that trying to discredit the first person to say something negative is moral, or smart for business. I didn't think it would be necessary transcribe my entire dialogue, but since I think it is important that consumers continue to have a platform where they can speak their truth and experiences, I will lay out the scenario, and let prospective customers make the decision for themselves.
I received my order of four bagels, walked to my car, and checked to make sure they were all correct. Two were not. I came in with the sandwiches open on the counter, because I had to open them in order to check that they were correct. The next words out of my mouth were, "Hi. Yea, these are not right". Yes, I was clearly frustrated, but certainly never berating. Once the order came back a second time, I asked, "Both have bacon?". She responded, "You said only one with bacon". In an effort to contain my self, I simply shook my head no. At that point another customer waiting for their food said to me, " I even heard you order that three times". Finally when I had made sure the order was correct, I did, VERY calmly say, "This will be my last time here." The employee responded, "Good, do not come back". I said that I wouldn't, and I left. At no point did I raise my voice, or make obnoxious comments. The worst thing I may have done, was make an involuntary facial expression that showed my frustration.
I know it hurts for someone to say something negative about you, or your business, but it is really not your place to create public conflict on a platform built for the consumer. I will gladly come in to speak with you if you still feel that I am lying, and for some reason have an unwarranted mission to slander Bagelport.
Finally, I hope you do not think me as a malicious internet troll, but someone that passionately cares about consumer experience.
-Drew
Original Post:
PLEASE AVOID. The woman who wears the headband is EXTREMELY rude. She told me to not come back to the store after I had to ask her to fix my order THREE TIMES. I thought the bagels were pretty good, but not worth the aggravation that the incompetent employees cause (Specifically, the woman who wears the silly headbands). I have actually been there on 4 separate occasions, and they screwed my order up 3 of...

Edit to reply to owner: Clearly I struck a chord here. It's unfortunate that you think you know me by saying "people like me" when in reality you have no idea what my life experiences have been. You might have also noticed that I gave the rest of the review better ratings but only rated the "atmosphere" low due to the clearly racist sign that you allowed to be displayed. What else would you call referring to an entire group of people with an ethnic caricature? By referring to an entire ethnic group Aladdin, you are stoking racial divisions and doing nothing to benefit America at a time where these divisions run deep in very racist pockets of the country.
Anyway, I appreciate you taking the concern seriously and taking it down. I hope in the future, as a business owner, you and your staff can be more thoughtful about the things they put up and whether it's coming from a place of kindness and inclusiveness versus something meant to draw increased division between people. We need less division as a country, not more. As such I have amended my star rating for the "atmosphere" at your...
