Country Hot Bagels — Restaurant in Town of Huntington

Ever since I have come here with my family, it's the only place we get bagels from and one of the only places we get egg sandwiches from.

Food: I cannot say just how much I love the bagels here! They're made fresh every single day, the texture is so soft and fluffy even after a couple days, and they taste fantastic. Bagels from many places taste like dishwater to me for some reason, but not this place. Try to get a bagel that is fresh hot from the oven, those are the best! My family always comes here to order egg sandwiches too. I will admit, the price is off-putting, but the business is family-owned, I'd be more than happy to support a local business, and the food is delicious. They certainly care about their quality. I believe you also get a free coffee with the breakfast sandwiches.

Service: Everybody I have met here are always smiling and having a good time, which goes to show how positive the work environment is. My only complaint, however, is somebody keeps forgetting to put ketchup on our egg sandwiches.

Atmosphere: Listen to me here: you're not meant to come here for the atmosphere, you're meant to come to come here for the food. The inside can feel cramped; beware of that. But the flow of customers coming in and going out is smooth. There are a few neat displays of old television characters as well.

I’d like to give the customers a different perspective because I was also a worker at country hot bagels for years. Let me start off by saying that the owner (Neil) is one of the best people I’ve ever known. Also, the other gentlemen baking the bagels are EXTREMELY nice and respectful. The owner and the two bakers are on a whole different level when it comes to making the bagels and other foods they offer like flavored cream cheese’s etc. My experience working there will be forever ingrained into my fondest memories. I’ve never had a better work environment or a better boss and I haven’t worked there in approximately 15-20 years! The food is otherworldly and the workers and surrounding people are basically a family. I could walk in there tomorrow and still feel at home. That’s the type of place Country Hot Bagels was, and I’m sure it still is. Please stop in to support one of the best establishments I’ve ever...

Time to try somewhere else... Several years ago, I went searching for that great bagel shop, on Long Island. I came across the great reviews on sites and not terribly far. Decided to try "Country Hot". I was pleased. The last few months, just not the same. Last trip four weeks ago, chalked it up to a bad day. This morning, came home with a dozen...They've had great everything bagels. Today's were not soft, as if they hadn't risen properly or were just old. They put a great amount of seeds on, seems as if salt is left out, lately. Was not Happy.... grabbed a cinnamon raisin in the dozen, looks like a dwarf snuck in. Will look to find somewhere else... any suggestions? I ended up throwing the bagels out... They tasted like...
