Northport Deli & Caterers — Restaurant in Town of Huntington

Came home for a short weekend visit and couldn't wait to get a bacon, egg and cheese s,p,k to go... sorry but a deli is a deli and that is no different at this establishment... it's a deli. The food was fine no problem there... What was a problem was the disgustingly rude women who worked behind the counter... WOW! OBNOXIOUSLY RUDE AND HOSTILE. Not just to fellow Staff or employees but to patrons as well. Was horrified by the way she spoke to the employee she was obviously training. I don't know if she is an owner or not but she should be ashamed of herself. What ever happened to leading by example. Not just BARKING at him but to guests as well, ignoring guests who were obviously waiting in a well defined line to ask the man who just walked in (5 people back) what she could get him today. I work in F&B and it doesn't matter if it's fine dining or small mom and pop establishment part of the job is SETTING A TONE that makes people, patrons and employees alike Want to walk through the door and ultimately come back for more. Her staff should run out the door... we will not support this establishment with...

Quality and selection at this place has gone way down since I was in high school (10yrs ago).

They used to be a legendary deli with great food and a great special called the Lumberjack we all loved.

I recently ordered through Ubereats a few times and the sandwich was lackluster - I actually thought I must have ordered from a different deli with a similar name.

Stopped in today to get a bagel and they now only offer plain cream cheese and something like three kinds of bagels.

I also saw a lot of similar one star reviews here and agree, it seemed dirtier, run less well, and the staff was not nearly as welcoming.

I don't know how much the rest of the sandwiches have changed but it was disappointing and I won't be coming back.

This is NYS, even better lower NY. How do you run a deli with only 3 types of bagels and just plain cream cheese? It was also on a Saturday morning around 9:30am, prime bagel time.

Between the taxes, housing market, and loss of lower NY staples like a good quality bagel I'm starting to wonder what the benefit of staying...

The deli is phenomenal and anyone who is from Northport, knows it! The food on the steam table for the lunch hours is prepared by a renowned chef and anyone who has been to a wedding that has been catered by them knows what I am talking about. Lets put it this way, how many DELI's do you know that have a chef that is of such a high caliber that they are not only able to cater weddings on the North Shore of Long Island but they are sought after. They are the house caters to the Vanderbilt as well.

As for the guy who said he worked there. 1st off, I actually did work there and can attest to everything I have said. However, this priceless quote of his says it all "I helped build the renovation." LMAO - Umm, did you mean reputation? Yeah, umm you see the thing is spell check wont help you if its the wrong damn word all together! So obviously everyone just totally disregards that...
