PieZano's Of Northport — Restaurant in Town of Huntington

I semi frequent this place because they have good food, and I have issues with service in the past but its usually because its super busy and typically the staff are very accommodating in recognizing that. Tonight however, I had a very negative experience with one of the counter staff which will forever leave a sour taste in my mouth. I ordered the gnocchi which is on the menu for 15 and change, when I got there to pick it up I was told it by a girl working the counter it wasn't ready so I offered to pay. Then I was told my total was 19 and change which seemed like a lot. I asked how much it was and she told me 18 something, I told her both on the regular and online menu its 15.75, or whatever. She told me I had an old menu. I opened the menu on the counter and pointed it out. She then told me the gnocchi was 3.99 extra after looking at the computer. I told her it was a single gnocchi dish which I ordered as listed with out changes. She pretty much told me too bad, her computer says its 18 something and not the price advertised. I expressed that it seemed wrong to charge people more for their food then what the menu presently on your counter and website says but she seemed to not think this was a problem what so ever. I paid and after a few minutes standing there waiting, it turns out my food was ready and on the counter in front of her the whole time. It wasn't even busy. I worked in food service for a long time so I don't typically like to make a scene, call over a manager, or write reviews, but I do think people should be aware that the prices on the menu may not be what you pay at this place. There are many local establishments that claim to make pizza 🍕 chicken 🐔 rolls, subs, heroes, and classic Italian cuisine and they do a fairly decent job in doing so. Not being satisfied with the quality of food from many of these places, I began my search for one Italian pizzeria/ restaurant to rule them all, well... locally anyway. Guess what? I found it. The name: PieZano's of Northport I stopped in for a calzone on the way home one evening... and I was blown away. Perfect! My good friend Pete who owned a Pizza restaurant in East Setauket for years always told me, that if I wanted a calzone to always order a "fresh baked calzone" and that's exactly what I did. Pete would be very impressed. I then decide to have lunch in Northport one beautiful afternoon. So I stop in, order a chicken roll and again... Perfect! Last Friday for dinner was a veal parm hero and this evening Friday night a deep dish pizza 🍕. This place just keeps on hitting it out of the park! The food has and continues to be fresh and cooked to perfection. I typically don't get amped over a food place, but PieZano's is different. The staff, counter help and I believe even the owner is behind the counter, helping to serve the customers. Always pleasant and always polite and accommodating. As long as everything remains to this standard, I'll be a customer for life. Keep up the great work...

I honestly wish I could give this place a negative star with the HORRIBLE service and food we've received in recent orders.

This past week my family and I ordered a pizza and mozzarella sticks and received them over an hour and a half late (I live on main street in Northport and if you know the area you know how close this is to the restaurant). When we received the food, it was cold, slimy and unappetizing. We also ordered doordash about 3 weeks ago and got a chicken ceasar salad which was soggy and the chicken was absolutely horrendous I'm shocked they sent that out for delivery. I didn't leave a review then because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but now I'm realizing all I'm doing is wasting my money.

When I called no one could give me an answer but simply blamed the delivery person and said "this isn't the first time". I repeatedly asked for someone to return my money as I refuse to pay for food that looked like it was cooked yesterday (in the photo you can see the brown lettuce and soggy mozzarella sticks).

Still have not received a call from the owner and will NEVER order...
