I don't comment on an establishment unless I have visited numerous times. At the Crossroads the food is usually very good. I say usually because last time we went more than one dish was slightly over-cooked. Granted it was a busy holiday but still a usually delicious dish was only fair this time around. Prices are kind of high. Pasta is $20+ and steaks get near $40. A kids burger was $12 and kid-size steak strips and fries is $16. The services is more poor than average and this has nothing to do w/the holiday because the experience is always the same. For starters they bring out the kids meal before anything else, even the appetizers and salads. My kids were done eating before my wife and i were served anything. Then my wife got her appetizer but I didn't get mine. Mine was served later WITH the salads. We were NEVER offered drink refills so I had to request refills for wine, water and soda even though the glasses were obviously empty. The waitress, a person who's been there too long, was boring and uninterested. She served us last time and we were unimpressed then also. The place is very clean but the...
Read moreI've eaten here before. Mostly in the dining room. And I've liked it. I had the kobe burger, medium rare. I was served initially by the day bartender, who, while nice and very funny, seemed annoyed that I asked her what type of bun the burger was served on. "Hamburger bun" Pretty much the same when I asked about the cheese. She seemed more interested in rolling dice and while she was very funny and nice, the dining room might be a better place to eat. It's great to talk to your regulars. They're your bread and butter but new customers can become regulars too. I didn't need to know she was having issues with the cook and orders. The burger was ok. Not what I'd expect for 20$. I asked for lettuce tomato and onion but got a burger on a plate. No garnish. Fortunately, the oncoming bartender noticed and asked me if I wanted LT and a pickle. And she got it for me. She was very professional. I'll be back but not for the burger and probably...
Read moreThe Crossroads has been an East Northport mainstay for decades. In this time of pandemic, it was still a treat. Indoor or outdoor dining was available. The tables were far enough apart for social distancing. That said, the service was impeccable. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. First they started us out with a hummus like appetizer with garlic bread. Then my wife and I enjoyed an appetizer of grilled mozzarella and tomatoes. The balsamic dressing was light and flavorful. Our salads were fresh with not too much of the tasty house dressing. My wife enjoyed a stuffed chicken breast with cheese and spinach. I had the onion crusted florida grouper. Both came with fresh vegetables on the side and rice or mashed potatoes. I would recommend getting out and supporting the local establishments near you. They all need our help in...
