Schaller's Ridge Road — Restaurant in Town of Irondequoit

let me start by saying i am now scared to eat here! I came in last night ( june 1st ) with my mom and my aunt and it was as cold as a morgue inside. i ordered curly fries, onion rings, a burger, and clam chowder. NOW, my curly fries were HARD and cold…. they were not fresh at all, my onion rings were but that’s only because they gave the last amount to my aunt and those were hard as well. I worked 5 years in the fast food/ diner industry and i know refried/ double dipping when i see it. they were not at all quality. My burger was just slapped on with toppings like a food fight happened on my burger; and FINALLY the clam chowder…. i have eaten at a lot of places but the after taste was sour. this was not good at all. i ended up throwing it all up. i spent 33$ here and i will never again. The store owner and manager should be ashamed, you have a female worker in there that seems to need a hearing aid and looks at her fingers instead of handling the customers and you have the chubbier teen, when asked if he can clean the table he says “yea in one second” sits there on his phone while we all watch, he does the quick “ swipe” of the table and when we go to sit he just pushed all the crumbs on the chairs of the booth.…… this location needs to DO BETTER or get a adult in there. This was far from service and now i’m having to deal with food poisoning. Save yourself the money and don’t come here. your wallet and stomach...

I Walked in and the place looked clean. However, the employees seemed very uninterested with there job. The first employee who took my order was speaking really low I could bear to hear what he was saying. Also, another employee wearing a hat with long hair and no hair net, had asked me what my order contained of about 7 times before they finally got it right. Next, I received my mozzarella sticks and they were cold and very hard like they had came out of the freezer. Meanwhile another employee wearing an orange shirt was walking around throwing “air punches”. While cooking my food the employees were discussing how they don’t like to work certain shifts depending on who is the boss at that time. I over heard a conversation saying that nobody likes to work a shift when “Ryan” is in charge. They were very loud and abnoxious as if they were all children who needs a baby sitter. The food was a disappointment but however the staff was definitely horrible and made me and my girlfriend uncomfortable to eat at the establishment. I’m not a Karen but I will not be coming back to this...

The food was great! The staff seem to get along. However, I'm going to comment because if a particular situation. I'm sure my review will change again soon. However, I went there on 10/6/23, and I could hear the manager or shift leader asking one if the employees to finish something that should've been doing a while ago. He gave ever excuse as to why he couldn't do it. It was offered for him and another person to work on it together. At one point, a customer said, "there's no I in team." She was correct, and as a black woman who watched that, it was a little embarrassing to see that from a young black male. The manager who was cooking the food was very polite, and I commend her on how she handled the situation. To be completely honest, if her had argued with me like that, I would've just fired him and asked him to get out of the establishment. You should never have back talk to your manager, especially if something was part of the job.
