This is the first time I've been to this place and I waited about 30 minutes for my food to go. I ordered the cheese enchiladas beans and rice and they packages it up and I took it to my car and then I stopped at a coffee shop and opened it and "everything" was all over the place and I was very gentle in putting it in the car, it's not like I swung it around and tipped it upside down, all I did was set it in the seat next to me upside right, and this is how it looked when I opened it... The little container of salsa had exploded all over the inside of the bag, the cheese enchiladas were and beans and rice were all on one side of the larger container and it was just as if somebody had just thrown up, I was so surprised and a bit disappointed at the packaging and the presentation. I hope next time this doesn't happen, maybe there needs to be a reassessment of what type of packaging you're using and maybe instead of putting the beans and rice inside the large container maybe put each of them in separate containers idk. The worst part, was I didn't even have a fork nor did I have any napkins to clean up the mess, I had to stop at a Cafe in downtown Rochester to get some napkins. I read through some of the other reviews and I'm not shocked. Well the atmosphere is nice The people are nice and it's clean and The decor is nice but you really need to step up your game on your food presentation and also make sure that the food is hot and tastes good and the beans are watered down.... I'm from California so I've had lots of authentic Mexican food and I also make Mexican food myself, and not that Americanized Mexican food, I actually make authentic Mexican food, so I know what it's supposed to taste like, especially when I grew up eating Mexican food south of the border and it's...
Read moreWe went there for dinner on Sat 4/6 and told the hostess that we would like a booth. She mumbled something to the other girl who said "follow me". We were taken to a table in the middle of the dining area with four chairs. My wife said, "no, we asked for a booth." I looked around and there were five (5) booths empty. She says, follow me back to the hostess. I must check with her.
We go back to the hostess station , they exchange comments and the hostess says " they are all tables!". There is one other couple in line besides us. She has the other girl take the next couple in line to the table where she had attempted to seat us and then the hostess says, "please follow me".
She takes us to another table against the wall with two chairs. Now I say "'NO! This is not a booth!". I point to the left front corner and say, what about that one? it is an empty booth". She says not available. I point to two other empty clean booths and she says no.
There were now six booths open, five clean ones and one still with dirty dishes. There was no one waiting in line at the hostess station, but we could still not have one of the booths???!!!! If someone at the bar was waiting for a booth, but were staying at the bar, they must have each wanted their own booth.
At this point, I left and drove to Salena's Mexican Restaurant, at 302 N Goodman St, Rochester, NY 14607 for an absolutely fabulous dinner and atmosphere. The staff understood our needs and were very pleasant!!
THE FOOD AND STAFF WAS FABULOUS...
Read moreLet me start off by stating that I rarely ever write reviews. But after some thought and the type of response I got, I had to write something. I visited this location for a take out a order. I ordered the chicken soup along with other dishes. Got home and the chicken soup was so salty that we could not enjoy it but instead my trash can enjoyed it. Now let me be frank, this wasn't like a tiny bit salty, it was the kind of salty that was so unbearable, you can't even handle a small sip of broth. So I called back to let them know and the only explanation I got from the girl was "the soup is made fresh everyday, when it sits too long, it can be salty". So they openly admit that the soup can be salty and yet you still serve it to the public? What kind of service and value is that? I wasn't expecting much from her, I didn't even get an apology or even offered a refund on the soup. I wasn't expecting a refund on my entire meal but she didn't even bother to offer me anything. It speaks volumes to me on how much pride goes into their business when you don't care about the customer at all. Yes, it is a pandemic and yes, I thought I could help out a small local restaurant with my hard earned money but they obviously don't return the favor back to their customers or the community. Monte Alban in Webster is by far the best location, it has better food, service, atmosphere and value overall. Don't waste your time at...
